I have never heard of Selfkey, can you provide us with the functions of the application or the basic uses of the application? and if it is released successfully, what banks will use the Selfkey application?

Basically, Selfkey offers signup for LOTS of financial services directly through their identity wallet with just a few clicks. Their marketplace include crypto exchanges, bank accounts, incorporations and a whole lot more actually. Incorporations and bank account marketplace is already released though. I think they might be releasing the crypto exchanges marketplace next.

Have you heard of Selfkey yet?

They just announced that they're going to be releasing their bank accounts marketplace in a few days.
Here's an article I found that explains how it works: https://selfkey.org/bank-accounts-marketplace/

What are your thoughts about it?
The moment I see a project planning of bank and crypto used together, I start to think about when the project would be abandoned. Banks and crypto are two separate sides of the world finances. We shouldn't think of them merging. If they do so, it means something weird will be happening. I am watching if it can be the first project to succeed from this.

Banks and Crypto merging does sound too far-fetched. From what I observed, the team does deliver according to the timeline they've set so I have high hopes for this one.

I don't know if their idea is going to work, but if it will, jackpot!
I really like though to see projects bringing new ideas, not just creating coins or tokens for the heck of it, in a hope they find enough "investors".

If you download their wallet, the current bank accounts marketplace already lists 2 banks from Singapore and Hongkong but for now still require personal visits. They said more banks would be added though and some of it won't be needing personal appearances. Yes, their concept does sound exciting to be honest.

Really doubt the longevity on sustainability of this kind of projects, crypto is very volatile than the traditional currency market, Would banks be considering such conditions too and will they adopt a particular approach to ensuring no loss of fund due to market volatility. A lot mind bugging questions though.

Nice but selfkey has many competitors already and many people are still addicted to their old way of creating transaction so selfkey has long way to go,the reason why i wont be able to use this service is simply because of the KYC implementation which im sure many wont want either but if selfkey proven to be a better service and gain milestone maybe i can change my mind later

With Selfkey's very wide scope, I don't think they have lot of competitors. If you check their goals, their marketplace ranges from crypto exchanges, bank accounts and to passport & residency. It's true that KYC might be a problem though. From what I know, they're currently partnered with a 3rd party identity service which comply with KYC laws and regulations. And yeah, still have a long long way to go but I can see that the team is pretty active, a good indicator.

The banks account marketplace is already live. A few banks are still listed for now but more would be added soon i believe. You can get the wallet here: https://selfkey.org/download/

Will keep that in my head, thanks. Sure the need to go through KYC is stressful but perhaps this requirement follows financial legislation and there's just no way around it. Regardless, I'am almost tempted to have a credit card issued by selfkey having in mind  it would give me a freedom to convert crypto into fiat.

True. I've read that opening an offshore bank account does have its advantages.

Something new in the crypto world, where a digital wallet can be connected to a bank account and there is still a lot of serious attention to be considered, such as their KYC requirements. I think it is better for us to wait until their official launch and see the developments that will occur, we do not know whether in the future there will still be problems or bugs that will occur later. Let's wait and see.

Agree. With regards to their KYC, they are connected to a 3rd party identity service which comply with KYC laws and regulations. I believe it's called KYC-Chain. For now, their wallet still has bugs though but I bet they'll be fixed along with the bank accounts marketplace release.
