Yes we believe the adoption will be very challenging yet we are still confident that our products will bring a significant impact to many people's daily lives (in a good way of course!) Nothing will be sent to the server. The "Biometrics", or the "private key" will always be stored in the cold wallets.

I believe he meant the 'biometrics" feature but If nothing is sent to your servers and everything is done locally, I don't see an issue here.

This is some really great hardware, with patented tech!

Not sure about the need for the tokens though, and the per-transaction fee. Assuming the unikeys merchant thing never takes off (honestly it probably won't) they still want you to buy their Unikeys tokens just to buy the hardware. I doubt that will continue longterm. They're going to need to sell these things on amazon for $.

But as just a hardware wallet with biometrics, great idea and I'd probably use it.

What about a bounty campaign here for the token sale?

All bitcoin transactions are done anonymously isn't it? 

Doesn't this just completely remove bitcoins biggest strength? Anonymity?

My understanding is that Case Wallet does not exist anymore --> (https://bitsonline.com/case-wallet-device-shutdown/), so I will not comment on this.

For XZEN, I think the device and the wristband look nice aesthetically but I don't think it is ideal to carry it around because it is quite big in size and looks clumsy. I believe both devices need to be charged very often and the price to purchase that is also quite high. I also realised one thing is that they said their pre-ICO was in Nov 2017 but then nothing is announced ever since.. It's been nearly a year! I find it really strange....

Same question since they do mention about EMV chip which do really need to have partnership with crypto ATM tried to search up to in their site https://www.unikeys.io/
but I failed to see such info. Hope op will clarify this concern.

manufacturers? ...Can your card work without the software App, if your company goes bankrupt? 

If you protect the card well, the fingerprint sensor should work just fine. In case if the user loses their seeds and the device fails, there is no way you could repair it at the moment.
As for the fingerprint scanner, there is a battery embedded inside the card and you need about 2 hours to let it fully charged and can then be used for up to 400 times.

I have used and tested a lot of fingerprint scanners before and these devices gets dirty and some even fail over time. If the user lose their seed and this device fails, would you be able to "repair" the scanner or recover the data from this device?

I am also curious on how the card is powered to enable the fingerprint scanner to work? Will it derive the power from the slot where it is inserted or from the card?

Even if your phone is stolen, you can use another phone to pair the UKey card. It's just as simple as downloading the Unikeys app again and re-pair the card with the new phone Any questions please let us know.

Is the UKey card in any way linked to the phone? What if the phone is stolen? or do you just use any phone to access the wallet application to restore the backup seed?

In most instances where you are robbed, these thieves take all your valuables. < Wallet & Phone> So I presume that this is similar to hardware wallets, where the seed is generated when the card is used for the first time and then stored in a different location.  

You are indeed correct , so currently we support the most common Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, Unikeys Token (UNK) and ERC20 Tokens. As for the Unikeys Tokens, it serves the purpose of the following aspects:

Unikeys is issuing one single token Ethereum ERC-20 token.

• Operate as a mean of payment for purchasing the devices and services provided by
the Unikeys team.

• Provide a cashback based on the activities of the UNK holder with merchants (0.1% per
transaction), in order to incentivize the utilization of cryptocurrencies and remain entirely
competitive towards traditional payment providers.

• Pay a single fee of 0.5%-0.75% per transactions to use the Unikeys Merchant App

You are absolutely right!!!!  The biometric feature is a very unique feature to human so no one can replicate that which minimises the risk of fraudulent activities or the card getting stolen.

In case the UKey card is stolen or damaged, they can always order a new card and restore
their original wallet. Once they receive the new UKey card, they need to launch the Unikeys Wallet application to restore the wallet with their smartphones. Users need to take their recovery
sheet and type the backup seed. After defining a new pincode and pairing the new UKey card on
their smartphone, their wallet can be fully be recovered.

It's something hard to achieve and probably not worth it. Adding more coins will just mean that they are focusing in quantity over quality and in this case there will be bugs. It's better to support the most used coins and then expand from there slowly.

The unikey tokens are going to serve what purpose exactly by the way?

OOoo this seems pretty cool, I have a ledger right now and would be very interested in one of these new wallets Will they be capable of holding only the top cryptos like BTC ETH LTC etc. etc. or will it be able to store any crypto?

One of the key advantages that I picked up on, was that stolen or lost cards cannot be used without the owner of the card being present. The person cannot access the funds on that card, without the fingerprint or biometric data, so that is already a pretty good advantage over traditional methods, like credit cards and debit cards.

From my understanding, Case Wallet and XZEN both have an extra device to carry in order to authenticate the fingerprint of the user. As for Unikeys, no extra devices are needed - the biometric sensor is directly embedded on the UKey card which makes life so much easier and more secure. The card supports bluetooth & NFC and a all-in-one payment solution allowing users to store, spend, receive and exchange multiple cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ether, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, ERC20 Tokens and Unikeys Tokens.
