Well, MEW team made an app (MEWConnect) for extra security when opening the wallet or making a transaction. Since you'll save your private key on your mobile using the app, there's no need to manually paste it into the site, all you have to do is to scan the code. I haven't tried it though, because it's only available on iOS as of the moment, still waiting for the android version.

If you want to know more about it, you should read from here: https://mewconnect.myetherwallet.com/#/about
Plus, the guide: https://kb.myetherwallet.com/getting-started/mew-connect-user-guide.html
Thanks for sharing with us I don't know of this new update but I think with what have read so far it will be better than the copy and paste method. I would like to see the update on android

Sorry, smth went wrong. Try another QR code

I created the new wallet and don't have an access to it! Crap!
Have you tried refreshing the MEW site to scan a new code? If not, please do so and update us if it worked or still not

I did it a lot of times.

I think it is a more secure and personal app by mew for smartphone users, i think they should also enable more safety features like email/sms and 2 factor authentication so that phishing sites and hackers are still not able to access the wallet.

It is just an enhanced update from MEW to give MEW a additional security feature ensuring safety and less risk to the users from the hackers and phisher attack. I will be waiting for the release of its android app soon.

At least this much better rather than copy and paste your priv key directly to the MEW site that so risky in my opinion. I will try that as soon as possible use my IPAD. But it will much better if MEW try to create a desktop wallet just like Mycrypto and that's my opinion about that. Just curious does the mobile app have all of abilities?

I also agree if MEW just released the desktop version, it doesn't need more features. just a little emphasis on the login method on our MEW account. but most likely it will also cause a lot of wider chaos.

For example, other people create malware applications that resemble the application and use it as a phishing tool.

Thanks for the info that there's an update regarding MEW since I rarely visit it nowadays.

I think this would reduce the number of incidents with phishing links and I think this thread needs to moved to Service Discussion(Altcoins).

Since the fall of crypto, I find it a bit difficult to check my wallet in order not to get discourage for the fallen coins and token but few days ago I summed up courage to check and I notice that a feature has been added to myetherwallet.com. The new feature is MEWconnect. I dont know what that implies. Does anyone here have a knowledge of this and what is the usefulness of it? once you click on MEWconnect, it will take you to "connect with MEWconnect and it is available in apple app store. Do you have any idea?
