If someone sells 100 bitcoin and get inr for it,how would he show this income for taxation purpose?.
Can he mention bitcoin or should it be just digital asset?.
How would tax be detucted in either case?

Well for 100 btc he has means from where did he got it if he has purchansed it then different between buying and selling price accordingly it will be tax in which slab rate it fits in during the year.

When you sell your bitcoin in any of the exchange in india, tax is detucted while you deposit it on bank.money will be send from exchange connected bank to you bank so their is no odd thing unless there is huge transaction.

I have done alot of research regarding this topic and the conclusion is there is no law requiring people to pay tax.

Paying tax is a voluntary action they now call it voluntary compliance just to make people comply.

So I would like to ask anyone, Which law does it require that people have to pay tax?

Well in india its compulsory to pay tax. If you don't pay tax and get noticed by Income Tax Deptt. Either you have to pay the tax or have to go to jail.

I am not a legal or financial expert to say whether it is cumpulsory to pay tax or not but I do believe it is social and national responsibility of every citizen to pay tax and contribute to the development of society to which he also is a part of

it has already been stated that it is not a legal requirement to pay income tax in the United States and what the ramifications of that action are going to be.  you do not have to be a lawyer to know the laws of a country, in fact, it is the responsibility of every citizen to know the laws, EVERY ONE, of that country

I don't know whether the government is trying to do this for the good of the country or not, but currently, in every Indian's views, this concept might seem to be interesting if made mandatory, because it will take each and every person in government's range and they will try to have their grasp on those who were stealing taxes for several years, and I really hope that the government itself is not going to promote corruption this time by being corrupt.

i am leaving the office now and driving home, but interesting thought i will leave you with.  While it is absolutely necessary for the people's safety and well being, laws actually stunt the emotional growth of the individual.  should you pay taxes?  i don't know, that is something that most people should take the time to ponder.  however, it is put out there as if it is the law and punishments rendered, so people just do it.  many people may think they are capable of committing this or that act(something like murder) under the right set of circumstances but never test the idea because it is illegal and the punishment stops them.  a person never really knows what they are capable of or what kind of person they are until they are given the chance to choose without any consequence at all

Your thought is good, and once again I would say that I don't know whether governments are doing this all for the well being of people or themselves. But taxes are meant to be levied and taken as well, because there are reasons why taxes are collected. Just take an example, we ask governments to grant us with the best possible roads, electricity, jobs, pension, etc., and on the other hand, we are not willing to pay taxes, then how will it become possible for them too in order to provide what we are expecting from them? Am I right?

As I have already said the roads etc are all payed for via energy , petrol , tobacco alcohol & property tax.
Infact that would be more than enough to pay for alot of things.

But these tax moneys dont do anything for the country if you open your eyes and look around, India is soon to become most corrupt and polluted country in the world.

India from a pure veg nation is now the no1 exporter of beef and meat in the world.

I already know the problem but most people wont understand as they have been brainwashed from birth to believe any trickery of the system.

your society differs to such a great degree from the US that there is no way for us to fully understand these things

IN US atleast people dont blindly accept anything the government or institution says In India its very easy to cheat people and introduce new rules and laws, just make it sound like you are helping them and erase their entire currency Cheesy. People think the government is here to help them and the country grow... if that was the case they wouldnt poison the food & water and pollute the air.

I dont even want to get into the financial robberry of the masses. But I guess they deserve it because they allow it to happen and worship the enemy.

"Tax is the Penalty you pay when you do things as per the law and Penalty is the tax you pay when you do things wrong as per the law"

I got this quote from my professor on my first taxation class. In India, very few people pay Income tax and recently I read that a single individual owns 11% of the entire tax amount due to the government. That is around 25,000 crores.

I personally feel that we all need to pay tax for the well being of our country, it doesn't matter whether there is a mandatory law or not. If you love your country, then start paying tax  Grin

No country can be compared to India as their economy is not same as ours. India's debt is a total of $485,600,000,000.
Wrong. Ref - http://www.nationaldebtclocks.org/debtclock/india

USA doesn't even have any debt and lends other country's money.
Wrong again. Ref - http://www.nationaldebtclocks.org/debtclock/unitedstates

I refer wikipedia which shows the debt amount as $485,600,000,000

Reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_external_debt

The last it was updated on June 2016. The amount doubled in the span of 6 months? It's odd. I know that Modi did take a huge loan from Japan of about $11-$12 billions but he has almost doubled the total debt. We are ruined  Undecided

I can see the amount as $19,643,000,000,000 for USA but when I checked a site last year, I could see that USA is owed a huge amount (and the debt amount was in minus) compared to other countrie but I noticed I was wrong.

Anyways, it's not related to this thread and hence would leave it here. I felt that the debt made India charges us so many taxes but may be I could be wrong there too.

Also for those of you playing the good citizen must pay taxes for country card,

Dont forget govt has been looting the people past 60 years.

It also happens government makes money off of taxes of property tax , alcohol & tobacco tax , oil & petrol tax for the growth of the country.  atleast in usa income tax is unaccountable for in India i'm betting all taxes are unaccountable.

No country can be compared to India as their economy is not same as ours. India's debt is a total of $485,600,000,000 and they recover this amount through the taxes we pay. The population is the second largest in the world and definitely the expenses would be huge. The issue lies when these taxes aren't spent properly where money collected in the form of taxes is misused else if these taxes were all used for the debt we would had to barely pay any tax. USA doesn't even have any debt and lends other country's money.

the USA has no debt?

ok, this comes up in the USA every several years or so.  there is a complex system that makes tax seem mandatory and technically it is not required to pay income tax on our law books. BUT, the alternative is to fight this, spend several years back and forth in court and possibly in prison to only find in the end that charges were dropped.  fun fact, the few people that have done this have wasted FIVE YEARS to have their charges dropped and not be compensated for any of their time and trouble.  on top of that, the very next time they refuse income tax, they are charged again and the same process happens every single time.  several hundred people have ABSOLUTELY SUCCESSFULLY refused to pay taxes of their income and WON, at the cost of five years in prison in the meantime and the inability to have any life that does not involve going to court all the time.

So, is it more important to be happy or right

edit:oh yeah, and i state this without actual knowledge of the india prison and police system, but i think i would much rather do prison time in the USA than india, just a guess

Yeh but that's the problem innit people are so uninformed and tricked they volunteer to do anything. How many people even know that its not mandatory to pay taxes ?

The system is corrupt in all forms and India is just another guinea pig of usa and jew world order

going to bed after this post.  i do completely agree with you and would love to jump in and fight back, but i have a business and stock holders to consider, plus a family with kids.  maybe when i was younger, sure, but there is just too much to lose and too many people that would get hurt in a fight like that, but yeah, you are right.

I dont blame you in today's world it is safe  and comforting to live a life according to society not questioning authority, but if its bad now it's only goin to get much worst down the line, and if people dont stop it it's never going to stop.

well, it is supposed to get bad, that is the life cycle of societies.  it begins with a small group governed loosely and as the population increases in size, the need for tighter and tighter government begins eating the personal liberties of the people, building more and more social tension until it explodes in a rebellion, eventually a successful rebellion spurns a smaller population group which can easily be governed without the tight reins and it all starts again

I have done alot of research regarding this topic and the conclusion is there is no law requiring people to pay tax.

Paying tax is a voluntary action they now call it voluntary compliance just to make people comply.

So I would like to ask anyone, Which law does it require that people have to pay tax?

ok, this comes up in the USA every several years or so.  there is a complex system that makes tax seem mandatory and technically it is not required to pay income tax on our law books.
