even if I don't use a VPN, I can't even open the FTX Pro application.
Did you just mean that you can only open the app when you use the VPN, or was it just a typing mistake?

I always open mine everyday without any VPN help. Most of the time, they roll out updates.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
If there are still doubts, it's better to use the web version only, if this application doesn't work well in your area, of course using a VPN is very risky then avoid this one but if it's already using a VPN without problems then continue using it.
I myself always use the web version instead of the application.

I don't think it's a bug for Android, if you want to use it, it's better to use a paid VPN to run smoothly, even if I don't use a VPN, I can't even open the FTX Pro application.

Try Gunbot for a month go to -> https://gunbot.ph
~snip
I've done that method before, even repeatedly doing it but still failing, as the OP said above, using a wife's cellphone, who had never installed Ftx Pro before, had the same problem.
So that's probably the application now or the connection itself from the application to the service provider. Have you also reported it to them that, that is the case? Because it shouldn't be a problem if you can use the website normally without the use of VPN. That's the problem, why should you even use it with a VPN if it's good, right?

But is it safe enough to use a VPN, I'm just worried about that,
It's safe if;
1. Trading on FTX is not banned in your country. Check list of blacklisted countries with FTX
2. You use a reputable paid VPN service. Avoid free random VPN services. They can easily be used for malicious activities such as stealing your sensitive data.

Of course I use the website without a VPN, it's fine, there are no restrictions, now I open it, there's no problem.

But what @vv181 said is true that Indonesian users must use a VPN to open the application.
In some cases, Indonesian users may be able to access blocked sites using non-ISP DNS. Have you verified that the browser you use didn't use third-party DNS?

You can see what DNS you are using with a site like: https://whoer.net/

I'm curious as to why that's happening suddenly. Maybe there's something to do with the phone app now or something.

Are you able to use their website normally without any VPN or something?

I'm not sure if this would help you but I saw this from Google Search

How to Fix FTX Pro Unable To Contact Server & FTX Pro Internet Connection Errors on Android:

This issue is usually because of the network you are using to access the FTX Pro app. There is a high chance if you fix your mobile data or your WiFi connection, you may not have issues with FTX Pro. Here is how:

On your phone, go to "Settings" » "Apps" or "Manage Apps" tab.
Next up, locate the FTX Pro App and click on it.
Click the "Force Stop" option.
Next, Go to "Storage" and select "Clear Data". Click "OK" when asked to reconfirm.
Next, Go back to the FTX Pro app tab and click on "Mobile Data" » "Allow Background Data Usage".
Now, Go back to your phone's "Settings" page and click on "Connections" option.
Go to "Mobile Network" and scroll to "Network Mode".
Now, Put your network on the 4G option. In case you are not clear, it looks like this: LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)
Relaunch the FTX Pro app.

The problem is maybe in your country has been blocking FTX exchange site. I just wanna try to remind you that if using VPN is a very risky decision. It's caused by you will be using network that controlled by another party and when you are also using wrong VPN and this can be a trap for you. It's better if you are changing only your DNS to be able to open the blocked site. This will be safer compared with use VPN. So many cases that people got stolen caused by they are using fake VPN. This is a very risky decision for you.
Try to use google DNS or another DNS.

When government restricted an app or website and we are bypassing with the help of VPN then we are not completely safe, its better to check if there is any updates in their terms recently or ask the support regarding the usage of app while government restricted it but mostly the exchange also won't encourage such things.
Getting a license in a certain country is expensive, so exchanges have to look at potential users in the first place. And what I know, regulations in Indonesia specifically mention legal and illegal services. If it's not on that list, then the service is by no means illegal. It's just that the risk of its use is not guaranteed by law.
The user mentioned he was using the application normally before but only facing the issues now which means government took some act to take down the site. As I said if exchange still allow people from Indonesia to trade normally then there will be no problem but it has to be make sure with the support or else OP may lose his account if something goes wrong.
I don't want anything to happen because of the fault of VPN users who are banned in some areas even though some say it's okay but really need to check with support so we know if using the application with VPN is allowed and it doesn't cause problems, because that's what I hope to get the info.
I will post support for it, while I can only access via website only not android app.

They don't ban Indonesian users, so you shouldn't have a problem using a VPN because of limited internet connections, provided you don't use an IP from a banned country.

It might also be due to ISP bans which I don't know.
I think it is safe enough to use VPN to access it. I skim their terms of service but didn't see any mention regarding the use of VPN. I could be wrong though, you better check their ToS yourself.

As you may know, an exchange that didn't follow Bappeti regulation is illegal in Indonesia, that should be the reason why the government banned the access. For the legal implications, I didn't follow through with the current regulation, so I don't know if it will cause any issues.

You are from Indonesia, right?

I checked that the application is successfully running with a VPN but doesn't work without it. Must be because FTX is not licensed and regulated in Indonesia, just like Binance which can't be opened if you directly accessing using an Indonesian ISPs. They just simply ban the access.
Well I come from Indonesia.

Why I prefer the app version because it's simpler to use because my daily life is holding the phone instead of in front of the PC.

In the last few days I couldn't open the Android version of the FTX Pro application, at first it ran normally but lately it's always been problematic, there is always a "Network Request Failed" statement even though the internet network I checked is normal, I've deleted the application data or uninstalled and reinstall it still the same, even I tried to download it again on my wife's phone and install the result is the same, is this really a bug or is it my fault?

Or has anyone experienced it?
