It's a great strategy, no matter what you buy, they will make money either way. So it actually doesn't matter what brand you buy. These are all junk foods though, seeing as they are not that healthy for you, I wouldn't recommend buying any of these products.

Those companies have an amazing marketing strategy, instead of selling their stuff under 1 name they make up a different one and sell under that name. It's pretty smart but most of these products, the things they put in their products are all junk. We don't need that as human beings. I try to limit myself on buying products like these.

They deserve the respect of everyone. Their work and their money (accumulated from the work of generations of other workers and owners) was so fruitful that have had as a result all this empire. Remain the duty of the Sate and its Authorities that the actual owners and managers don't abuse with all this power and take the maximum of care for the progress of the business and first of all for the workplaces of the workers. Without forget the new workplaces and the use of the money even for helping the community and the people in need.

I see there posts who blame these for being successful in the market. It will be not such if one of them will be one of the posters. If are clean money and made with work deserve respect. If not deserve the prison. Until today they are working to go forward the empire. Are not in prison. So cannot be blamed only for having money, power and success.

If they use the politicians to have favors the firsts that must be in prison are the politicians. And after them all the above mentioned. But until this can be proved both parties are innocent and cannot be blamed.

Those companies take good care of us and that's why it's fair they don't have to pay any taxes  Smiley
There is a difference between taking care and providing a service which is caring to you .
They are making billions from the products you buy from them and they wont continue it if they are told to do that at non-profit rates.

Quote
As the world starts to globalize, it is accompanied by criticism of the current forms of globalization, which are feared to be overly corporate-led. As corporations become larger and multinational, their influence and interests go further accordingly. Being able to influence and own most media companies, it is hard to be able to publicly debate the notions and ideals that corporations pursue. Some choices that corporations take to make profits can affect people all over the world. Sometimes fatally.

The Rise of Corporations

These big companies do not like the competition at all, they merge and buy each other out.
They do a lot of lobbying they bribe to the top, most politicians are run by these corporations.
No room for the small business anymore I have seen them bite the dust over the years.

Food companies are manipulating the prices with each other,Its these multinationals that actually rule the world.

To me there is nothing wrong when i choose to buy anything from the above mentioned companies. What they have done is being able to make the world we live in a better place than ever. Even though they make money, you are always getting a service in return and thus it is not something we can say maybe is they are forcing you to make purchases. Globalization expand the company and am sure then even as you start your own company, you always want to get global at one point. Celebrate these people instead.

This is why small scale manufacturing companies cannot compete with this giants. Because of tv/radio ads, they can now somehow manipulate prizes of the products they have even a lot of same product are on the market.

These big companies pays a fortune to keep the brand alive, being directed to child or the dadys the thing is that they always take our attencion into promotions on tv as when they give some discount or extra offer, its impossible to start today a new brand and try to stay alive ,big companies can kill any new brand .

Hello :-)

Wow! i really had no idea that some of these companies really own these brands. It is good on one hand as your favourite brand is probably available no matter what country you are living in. But the downside is definitely that monopolies are generally not a good thing.

Cheers

Cocacola, Nestle, uniliver have lots of products also in my country. Cocacola have introduced mineral water named kinley here but they fail to overtake the existing mineral water market. These companies are the dominators of the world consumer market. Nice graphical presentation.

http://attachedmoms.com/10-reasons-to-boycott-nestle/
This is very nice artical about nestle and some reasons why its good to start boycott all nestle products. It’s sad to say but I think most chocolate companies are like this. It seems that this is news to a lot of people. This all sounds like something we need to think about.
And about Coca Cola so I need to comment anything? I think we are already aware of how much "healthy" coca cola is, but anyway people drinking it around the world more and more.

Wait... PepsiCo owns KFC!? WTF!!
My view of the world has changed forever.

Can you all at how all these big companies own all the unhealthy product companies? Wink What does that say...

It doesn't say anything. Companies are not forcing their customers their products down to throat, at least not yet. Only we are responsible what we eat and what we are putting into our bodies!

But it just so happens that WE are shoving these things down our throats. Maybe I speak for myself, but I admit, I relish KFC <3 Wink

i don't buy anymore that trash foods, i'm 100% fruits/vegetables and eggs, nothing else, much more healthy than those crap things

so they do not possess me at all

Fruit, Vegetables and Eggs: that's extrememly uhealthy! Too little fat and salt. Both of these are needed for proper bodily functions.

Ah, man!
Seriously??? Do you think that Fruits, Veggies and Eggs are unhealthy for your body???
Can you please share what do you eat rather than these things, so that even we might start eating them to become healthy...
We ain't talking bullshit here dude, nobody asked you anything about health issues, we are discussing corporations here...

Every food must be eaten in moderation!
You need the correct amount of vitamins, minerals, fats (starch), glucose (carbohydrates) and proteins. To stay healthy. Also, there are also other companies that own manopolies of products such as: Worburtons (think that is the right spelling!) They produce healthy foods (sort of)!

Do you really think that food coming from these companies is actually complete and can only gain us instead of losing something in our body???
Think again...
The best example is Maggi Noodles, which got rejected 2 times before it got an approval again to be sold in India as its samples failed the tests of consumable amount of lead by human body...

fruit and vegetables and eggs provide you everything, every minerals and vitamins not to mentions even omega 3(DHAin the eggs not only ALA, EPA can be converted more easily than DHA, so the body produce it from ALA)

eggs are rich in protein(the best type of protein) and fat(1 eggs = 5 fat), you need to eat many eggs, i eat 15, don't worry about my cholesterol it's fine, measured three time already

i eat banana, kiwi and carrots + eggs, and then i add walnuts in the afternoon, it's perfect

Those blades are expensive as hell. Gillette and Wilkinson almost own the whole market.
Gillette more than 70% and Wilkinson around 20% or so.
I read somewhere an article, there it was written that a blade cost in production around 8 cents!!!
And they are selling it for a profit of around 2000%!!!!

EDIT: found an article from 2013 dailymail. Interesting to read.

Can't understand how people manage to pay this high for such blades...
Why ain't we getting these things availed at the rates we should get them at???

Now I know Karl Marx is not popular here, but some of the Marxian analysis on the ills of our so-called free market is dead on.  (More so than mainstream economics which is definitely trying to work with the elites and not rock the boat.)

If their cure is worse than the disease, we don't have to listen to it.

We should all read more Marxian economics.

This is beautifull globalisation. 10 biggest multinational corporations possess almost everything we buy in supermarkets all around the world. These corporations have created a chain of small producers who are specialized in different products, but at the end of the day the consumers money always goes in these corporations pocket.

Map is not definitive and detailed . There are hundreds of local brands which are not mentioned on the here on map. For example in Serbia where I live, Nestle has Soups C and who knows what else . Coca Cola now hold Next juices and water sources.
