Investigating - Cloudflare is investigating an increased level of HTTP 522 errors in the Dubaï area.

NotATether, I would delete all browsing history, cookies/cache from mobile browser - and check if you are using the latest version of browser - additionally do a soft reset of the phone.

Actually, you may have hit the nail on the head here. I do live somewhere geographically close to Dubai, except I was being routed through Djibouti City, Djibouti; which was listed as Partial Outage this morning and now it's shown as Re-routed. The time Cloudflare reported the problem is roughly a little after I started having connection  problems, and now I can access bitcointalk normally without any proxy.

I think this was the issue I'm having. It's solved now so I'm locking this thread.

So strangely, newsbtc.com does load on my phone, but cointelegraph.com doesn't either. It almost sounds like cloudflare had an oopsie with one of its endpoints in my region.

Setting a proxy for my phone to use for my WiFi network does allow me to access bitcointalk (edit: and cointelegraph) though.

I'll leave this thread open in case theymos has anything to say about why this connection failure could be happening.

Try refreshing your browser. Most likely there was some problem between bitcointalk servers and CF at the time you happened to try to access the forum from your phone.

Has anybody else suddenly got Cloudflare errors 520 and 522 today like this and couldn't load bitcointalk?

I face this error sometimes maybe once a month and i don't really pay any attention to it as it automatically get resolved. It can be either issue on my side (cookies , Net speed) but most probably it could be many people trying to access the site at a particular time result in this error. Now sure about the exact reason.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.
Nope; Just now I turned off the VPN and I got a cloudflare 520 error again.
Have you tried to access some other websites to check if its they have the same error without vpn? Assuming they have hosted on cloudflare the same on bitcointalk. You can check newsbtc.com and cointelegraph.com

If you just experienced it for a single time or lesser than common downtime, I guess its just some temporary server whatnot.

It strangely works on my other device (connected to the same WiFi) but not from my phone, so I had to use a VPN to use the site from my phone. Bitcointalk is not blocked in my country by the way.
