Royse777, is it so hard to save links to those posts and merit them later? Let no one be offended, but what if all MS would open a topic like this and ask for merits?

Can this be compared to merit begging in some way (although it is MS)? What about the rest of us who have to earn every sMerit in a hard way?

Yeah, but if he merits older posts, he won't have enough merits for newer posts, and his list of posts to be merited will keep on increasing. If he started a topic asking for larger allocation I assume he's running out of them too quickly. But he could have just posted in iasenko's topic instead of starting a new one.

Are you sure of these links? I don't see anything special about it that prompts you to claim more Merits to send it to them.
I do not want to interfere with the way your sMerits are distributed "You are free to do what you do" but try to only send it for high-quality topics to avoid their expiry quickly.

The current system is good and I get enough sMerit.  Smiley

Hey, I have to earn them the hard way, but I ain't complaining Cheesy

In a way, what Royse does is crowdsourcing so that other MS could notice and distribute their shares. In a way, instead of running dry for a while, let other posts be noticed in case they might be overlooked.

you should have considered rewarding this reply instead: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.23321086 which unlike the other one didn't have any merit and is a better answer since brain wallets in general are terrible things to use specifically when you are simply performing a single hash on the input which is extremely fast and can be brute forced easily considering majority of people who use such schemes use predictable inputs.

I don’t want to sound too harsh here, but I think merit allocation skills are a required set of competence for a merit source.
I think it is best adapting your meriting habits to the posts you want to merit, rather than running out and then ask for more.
Lol.  I think there are quite a few merit sources who got tapped by Theymos without ever applying for the "job".  I know I was one of them, and I don't think there's ever going to be a competency test for prospective merit sources.  You just do your best with what you have, and sometimes you don't have enough.

What I meant is that I think I would prefer theymos using some kind of “semi-deterministic criteria” when reallocating source allowance, rather than giving those out of a request.
Of course I would like to ha e more merits to send, but I try to wisely manage my allowance  (both sources aa d personal) in order to regularly deplete it.

Regarding “tapped MS”, I think it was a mixed result experiment from theymos, as few of them gave up from the task and explicitly asked to be removed from MS lists or were excluded whit last revision, when they had too few sMerits over the last 6 months.

OP, I gave you some merits--it was a good, organized post and I've been very lazy with the merit-giving this month, so you'll probably put the 5 sMerits you got from me to good use pretty soon.

Maybe you can be part of the GANG...
Oh yeah, I remember that thread.  Good bumpitty bump, bro.  Not sure if Theymos is looking at that anymore, but I think OP did the right thing by creating his own thread, as I'm sure that'll get Theymos's attention.  I had to do the same thing last year.

I took care of the one post in your second batch that doesn’t have any merit. The rest appear to have merit from at least one (but often two or more) people.

I'm putting you on my list tomorrow if you don't mind.
If there will be any increase in the source merit there's s higher chances to happen if more people gather together. We have seen this happening before Smiley

We know that quantitative easing, or debt following fiscal irresponsibility, has proven wrong in every context.
In addition to this, I am confident that, in six months time since last “reshuffle” (in more or less three time from now then) theymos will rebalance the merits again, so if you are consistently short, you would probably get an upgrade.

In the meanwhile I reckon the posts you reported are good, and I had them covered.
Again, this is my view on merits allowance, nothing against you in particular, as I said you are doing a good job as far I can see.
