Such cases have to be handled one by one and more information is needed to be sure if this an off-topic post and then if it is, of course, should be deleted but...

From the moment I read this post from Theymos:
Off-topic replies have become a big problem. From now on, I will be deleting such replies without notice, forum-wide. If your replies disappear, this is probably why.

All replies must respond to the topic's original post in some way, even if they are replying to an on-topic reply. If your reply has nothing to do with the topic post, either add some content that is relevant or create a new topic.

Please report off-topic posts as soon as you see them.

I started worrying because there are for sure overwhelming many off-topic posts. Many times the main topic of the thread is forced to be changed during the discussion and I have seen such threads, participated in them and posted such answers by my own. That are very valuable side discussions, which finally in the majority of cases come back to the main topic when the side discussion finally ends. Many times OP himself triggers such a side discussion in his own thread.

I was always sure that even if the post is off-topic then, another one, for example, an answer to this off-topic post is automatically a valid post, despite it is still off-topic to the main topic of the thread.

I don't think this is even possible that every post in, let's say mega-thread could be fully on topic. Therefore, checking each case individually is crucial to be sure that the post is really off-topic and ads nothing to the actual discussion.

You seem to be in desperate need of validation, so I left you a merit. Hopefully this helps fill the hole in the pathetic empty blackness that is your life.

Fuck me you raised a valid point! seeing as I was the OP in that example I do not know what the score is. If the rule is being enforced then nobody should be exempt from this, i am not asking for special treatment here for anyone - either its allowed or its not.

we are being subjected to verbal diarrhea from Techshare and Thule across both Meta and Reputation, the vast majority of these posts have the grand total of fuck all to do with the OP. Please can you clarify if the above is still relevant or not as the reports I am making are not all being handled.

Isn't that the cat calling the kettle black? Because I feel like you have tons of posts that are posted that aren't related to the topic/OP.

In hindsight we probably all do I am sure I do too probably . But you probably got a looot more than most

I think that post of yours counts to what I am saying

But maybe bitcointalk staff is selectively enforcing the rules lolololol. (Sarcasm here, that's tecshares signature if you didn't know)

Edit - prime example from Techshare.
OP from QS
Vod is giving multiple people 50 merit for very low effort posts (they are on topic and not necessarily wrong) in a thread discussing something that reflects on him poorly. He is giving away merit to people supporting him.

I am referring to this thread. Although he is also giving 50 merit to others who have recently supported him.

His status as a merit source should be revoked and reversing the merit transactions should be considered.

Techshares shit about himself.
Never staff here. Tell me, where did I go to far? I would love to hear the logic for this condemnation. Anything anyone has ever accused me of is nothing compared to what those on the top of the current trust cartel do regularly, especially Vod.
