Why not using the signing function at brainwallet.org?
Both the sender and the recipient can create and verify message signatures.

Armory used in Offline Mode.
But I don't think the signing/verifying is the same as in Bitcoin-qt, so a message signed by Armory can't be verified by Bitcoin-qt and vice-versa.
