If I had the spare cash I'd have a punt on the cheapest one of the range. It wont hurt that bad if it doesn't ship and it's happy days if it does. Let's be honest you'd spend that on a decent night out

i guess we can only wait and see, Im going to get the avalon-asic and BTC to USD Is easy enough, Basically deposit your BTC To an exchange like mt-gox.com or btc-e.com and sell it off to usd (minus fees obviously)

You might as well wait for Butterfly to produce a working item now.

The said they would be testing their new chip this morning.

Butterfly is quickly running out of excuses so it's make or break this week I think.

I hope it works, as I don't want to spend 650w on electricity costs (Avalon), as bitcoins are not exactly easy to sell to cover the bills.

only thing about Avalon it seems they only ship in bulk... unless im wrong on this... and for smalltime people aka college students or people starting out... They don't really offer anything like that... Im personally looking for the Jalapeno... 4.5Gh/s would pull in a steady 20-25$ a day apparently... which isnt bad for a college student making about the same amount per week...

Honestly I'm highly suspicious of Butterfly, I'd maybe look at Avalon because they've actually bothered to ship them as promised but of course everyone seems to have already gone to them so it's doubtful you'll get one any time soon unless you're lucky or they increase production massively.

What do you guys think? Too late in the game? Is 30 GH/s worth it at this point?
