Thanks for your opinions Smiley. I think I would need to get a powered USB hub though - seeing as I only have 3 USB ports for use (and I use them for ext. drives and my work USB).

Hey all,

Am thinking of buying a Blue Fury USB Miner (from https://asic-market.com/product/blue-fury-usb-miners/), and am wondering if it would work on a standard laptop? Am not sure what specs matter exactly, but I've pasted what I think may be relevant at http://bitbin.it/4cTzLs00. If anyone could tell me just the specs that would matter, I can add them here.

I've also heard that mining on laptops is generally not a good idea? If so, I can get a hold of a normal standalone PC.

I actually use my laptop to mine using Blue/ Red Fury. There is nothing wrong with using them. I have been doing it for ages. You don't need any special spec for the laptop.

right. it will work but theres no 100% answer. worst case it dosnt work and you have to spend a few ££ on a powerd usb hub. mining using laptop hardware is bad. this is laptop hardware such a laptop cpu and gpu other hardware like asics its perfectly fine because there not in the laptop causing excessive heat
