Thanks for all your input I'm just going to give this a bump. I have an exam Monday afternoon gmt and then I'll be able to concentrate more on this (first couple of days are done already) anyway it'll definitely be started by Wednesday. Should I make the introductory topic today (Saturday) so you guys can add it to notify if anyone's interested or shall I wait until it all gets started?

After then this thread or another one will be made for discussions as I think it's nice to keep things separate a bit.

And yeah @etf if it's there then I'll know its important. Especially block sizes since the first transaction into the multisig has to be there and the consensus was the bit about the ln compliance in the chain afaik (to add an extra enforcement feature).

Go for it - it's time I started to understand the content of some of the whitepapers.

My motivation is that I have to revise a readinig list of about 13 textbooks so I need to start myself off with something interesting to read and then dive into those once I have a good speed going.
Take your time, this time will be ideal for posting such efforts.
Everyone wants to know about the lightning network & the famous platforms and wallets have started to support it, so you will find enough interest in reading them.
Focus on the information that is correct and leave the option for the user to search for more.

Thanks for all the input everyone!

I plan to start publishing these next week, I'm onto day 3 already (there'll be between 7 and 14 days probably).

Most of the concepts seem to be at the start so I might be able to cut it down by quite a bit (I'm aiming to get everything I consider the most useful/relevant out by 5 or 7)...

My motivation is that I have to revise a readinig list of about 13 textbooks so I need to start myself off with something interesting to read and then dive into those once I have a good speed going.

I have read bitcoin whitepaper a lot of times, but I have never read lightning
Certainly it would be cool to read a 1 page version and then read the complete version (to have a better understanding, as usually those whitepaper are not easily digested)

I have not done any research on the Lightning Network so your piece might create the needed interest for me to do so.
It is always easier to begin with a simplified explanation on new concepts and then dive into the more technical aspects.
I am looking forward to it!

Many good people learning hotspots and thinking of continuing on this topic may not know much about it if we are taught about it. A lot of people will know how to learn and are really good at accounting The higher the transaction the less certain it is and the less likely it is to have a successful double spend. There is no fear of losing anything in the light of your own experience all the systems can work easily. The great point to correct if wrong.

Will people be interested in this?
Definitely people will be interested in it, people who wish to understand more about this promising feature(lightning network)like myself would love to read more articles like this about it, as long as its simple to understand, straight to the point and maybe not too long. It is a perfect idea, and also some users have started threads to explain what the lightning network is all about, and their efforts was appreciated, I don't see why yours wouldn't be.

The interest in your writing is going to depend on how good you're actually going the explain the stuff, compared to the sort of "Lightning Network Explained" articles and videos we have to day. I'd say go for it! Even though your piece isn't going to be guaranteed to gain traction. Writing about something you already know about actually helps you learn more about it(based on my experience, at least), so I don't think there's anything to lose here.

Best of luck.

I think you should go for it regardless of anyone showing interest.
It's still a concept that a lot of people haven't invested the time learning about - myself included. A refined version that could serve as a nice starting point is good for any system really. I admittedly have read up a little on it but eventually just felt I couldn't be bothered at the moment so I wouldn't mind seeing something short I could look over for the main concepts and then dig in further from there as I choose.

https://bit.ly/387FXHi lightning theory
Not sure where to post this so I might start it off here and move it somewhere else tomorrow.

Looking at a lot of the whitepapers, it seems things like the lightning network have a huge whitepaper, I was looking at rewriting some of it and then noticed the statistics might be slightly off compared to an unbiased opinion. I can also give some additional review on the netowkr looking from a different perspective.

Will people be interested in this? I'd be looking at doing a single side of A4 for one day at size 12 attempting to simplify everything into a 5 minute digest (with additional links if people want to look into things at a greater depth).
