Raw Avalon chips everyone! (I think) they're going to be moving to second generation chips so they're getting rid of the chips they don't have to factories to build boards for before everyone else actually starts releasing their chips and their market monopoly is gone.

BFL is awful at replying though. Everything is on pre-order for the 50GH/s rig, and I sent an inquiry to them (twice) about a possible order to see what shipping would be like given the fact so many people are ordering and it's been at least 3 weeks. No reply.

The 50GH/s rig can make up its money today, but come August when people start getting their ASICs, everybody is going to hit a wall. There will still be profit to be had, but it's going to be like running a GPU today. Slow climb.

You should just buy ASICminer shares. Probably the best return you can get ATM.

You should also consider a USB miner from ASICMINER.  There are probably some group buys going on right now.  300MH/s for 2.1 BTC.  Maybe not the least expensive way to get in, but if your electricity is expensive it may be your best shot at getting ahead.  Of course, you have to buy BTC to mine BTC.   Roll Eyes

BFL sells an ASIC with 50 GHash for $2500. The ASIC can produce that money in 10 days. Yeah sure they are gonna ship it to you lol

Do not purchase aka pre-purchase a BFL asic unless you see in these forums that many people are happy to have received them and are happy with their products.

So far, no one outside of BFL has received anything and have been waiting for months.

Avalon Asic's are decent products but they are out of stock. when available, they cost a fortune on pre-order due to the high demand.

I am not well educated on asicminer to give any details.

If you want to start mining right away and if you want to make it easy, build a PC with minimum 2 PCIE slots, a 700W PSU and a few Radeon Cards such as 5850's, 5870's, 6950's...

refer to the following sites for finding the right videocard
https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/wiki/Mining-hardware-comparison#wiki-ATI_AMD_GPUs
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

Before PC Mining, do your homework on the build's power consumption and your power costs.
If electricity is free, it is very easy to get the hardware paid off within 2-4 months. If it isn't, it might not always be worth it.

Once you have a decent machine, (Should not cost more than 600-1000$ depending on videocards, motherboard and PSU)

I suggest mining for Litecoins as they are more profitable than bitcoins. You can easily exchange them for bitcoins when you have plenty of litecoins. I use BTC-E.com for ltc=>btc and cavirtex for cash deposits to my bank.

I am new to mining i have tried it in the past with the easier miners my pc is an older one so i wasnt to succesful with getting the  cgminer to run i have used a few of the easier ones.  My question is i want to order asics from buterfly labs or from ebay even.  Is there any hosting sites or anyway to have this set up in my home to get one of these up and running asap if i purchase an asics.  What are my other options.  What would you reccomend if you are not 100% on mining.  I would be willing to pay to have one set up and supported even in my own home or pay a hosting compmany.  Please reply.
