This thread reminds me of a discussion I started last year 2024. I had come across an article claiming that October was a good time to invest, and I brought it to the forum seeking further insight.
 However, the feedback I received helped me realize that there's no specific time for investing in Bitcoin, given its unpredictable price fluctuations.

As the festive season still continuous as we already in the fruitfull year that we all have been waiting for, just imagine your yourself starting this season with so much investments on Bitcoin from now for to be there for you, since Bitcoin investment is about having patient, ,so you have to discipline yourself in such way that you must have target. Most investors want to buy a large amount of Bitcoin at a low price or they become interested in buying bitcoins at low prices. But we might be wrong to wait for the price of Bitcoin to drop before buying Bitcoin. We consider it a wrong decision because we don't know exactly whether the price of Bitcoin will go down or up. If the price of Bitcoin suddenly falls then the person may be able to invest and if the price of Bitcoin suddenly increases then he may not be able to invest. Because he waited for the price of Bitcoin to drop.
Yes starting bitcoin investment using DCA strategy can buy bitcoins on weekly or monthly basis for investment. To use the DCA strategy you need to confirm your source of income. If a person has an income share, he can easily continue his investment on a weekly or monthly basis.

I'm one of those BTC investors that take positive results from BTC bull run last year, and I'm very happy that I took such risk to increase my capital in the bear run last two years because BTC pump to hit $100k last year December to help investors expectation to come to reality to break into ATH history.
Hope the mistakes you made last year will not repeat itself this year op, because I don't know the reason why you couldn't follow your friends to buy BTC last two years when the price was low, I believe you have seen the plenty profits they earn from BTC which I know it will make you to save money that will make you to buy BTC this year, once the bear run occur.
You can do your personal research in this month of January before you can make your decision, and you will know that this 2025 will going to be a better year for those that will be ready to buy BTC from the bear run, because this year will going to be bear run through out.

Buddy first and foremost there's no preferred time or period that one can start investing in bitcoin but if you're talking in regards to people spending their money unnecessarily during December instead of using the money to invest in Bitcoin then that's fine, the two are different things, though I understand what you meant, you're trying say that people should act wisely when it comes to December expenses because of the regret that may come after, talking about bitcoiners that sell their holdings just to go for what they call enjoyment, I think any investor doing that doesn't understand the concept of Bitcoin, though I don't have the right to question anyone's decisions in whatever they want to do with their holdings but I won't stop saying that Bitcoin is an investment thats meant for a long-term.
Op you've learnt also at least you're the one blaming yourself but such would have not happened if you disciplined yourself then but thats by the way, sometimes this things happen for us to be a living testimony, definitely your friend made a very good decision and altleast his portfolio can attest to that already.

Op your advise in your last paragraph is right but hope you're have started doing the needful too, you don't just advise, you've to be a practical of what you have said already.

As we are in festive season right now, i said this is the period we should invest more because he that fails to plan,plan to fail.
If you don't invest this festive season it will be very hard you to meet things in January since you have spent all your investment but once you have investments you can always go back to it and make use it when the needs arises.

We are in festive period,and I don't know how this period can be the best time to invest,however,it might be that the OP has already made investment in festive period like this and he has seen how benficial it was to him when he invested then.
For people like me us who are just starting,and don't even have the means to invest in bitcoin 

You seems to have forgotten that no time is the best or right to start Bitcoin investment, if you say now is the best or right time what of those who are not yet born or those who are still small that will later venture into Bitcoin investment. Does it mean that the time they will venture or will want to venture won't be right or best? Perhaps the best time to hold more Bitcoin in our portfolio is during the Dip but any investor who uses the DCA method don't actually give a fuck about the market price because they will accumulate anytime regardless of..., lastly Bitcoin investment is not a must rather it is a matter of interest so don't see anyone who's not interested as a mumu person according to you lol.

I hope say you understand bitcoin cycle, no be wetin you go say you wan invest at the beginning of the year, so that when e reach the end of the year you go don make money, lol. Go learn about the bitcoin halving, and the bitcoin cycle wey dey happen approximately every four years. That being said, nothing dey bad to enjoy yourself during the festive season, as long as say you no dey spend all your money, but just something small from your total money.

It's true that during festive seasons price do fall due to the need of people selling their coins just to fulfil themselves during this period but at the same time it's very important to know that when ever you have money that is the best period to invest.

I bitcoin the dips are always around festive seasons and since we know this we can use it to the advantage and buy much bitcoin as possible when we find out self in this selling times and Hodl for as much as we can.

I'll tell you one thing, that there's no actually a very right time to buy or purchase Bitcoin, cause anytime you get into the crypto community, and you find it fit to invest, that is the very right time for you to join the crypto train.

The one beautiful thing here is that the crypto industry has no restrictions. This is the festive season, where people will want to cash out some of their profits for the holidays ( the Christmas and New Year celebration ). Delay is dangerous unto say you fit to de wait for price to dip and you go squander all di money wey you wan to take buy am. But normally di most profitable time to start Bitcoin investment na during bear run, dat time wey price don dip well well, so dat when e go start to rally na so plenty ROI go de enter for you. As you talk am na so e be because weda it's the festive period or not, the main thing there na if you get the funds to invest then you invest it not the time frame because everytime dey good to invest in Bitcoin, the only reason why you go pin the time factor for your investment na when you no get plans of HODLing that Bitcoin for long because if you get bigger holding plans then even as Bitcoin don touch 100k sef u know suppose fear to buy as you know fully well say e go pass this 100k sef.

There's never a best time to invest in Bitcoin and there's never a bad time too, for me its basically that you need to have that spare funds you are willing to let go at a time and then you go ahead to invest and I'm saying this because of volatility and the fact that you actually do need the time to get the profit and so if the money you are investing is one which you needed in the nearest future you may wan to harvest it in time already. You may suggest this period of festivities as your own kind of best time to invest for reasons best known to you but i think you can still invest now or later provided you are willing to wait all the time before you are going to get your ROI and not the get rich quick scheme mindset.

You were making a lot of sense but, when you had to call people mumu for selling or via say them no Dey take chances now as you see am, na that one way no too sure for me. OP you are still a newbie so i don't expect any experience about investing in bitcoin from you but what i want to let you know is that this period is basically a time when people merry with their families, spend time with loved ones and maybe go on vacation and take a little rest off from work. People spend money so much in festive periods like this so advising people that now is the right time to invest, they may not be welcome it and besides some people have been investing since January till now and with the fact that they have realized profits from their investment, they can consider even selling part of their coin to merry with in this festive period. But that notwithstanding, anyone who wants to invest now will depend on if they have discretionary income after they must have finished expenses for the yuletide season.

point of correction, no one is a fool despite the time they choose to sell there bitcoin. afterall holding bitcoin is not holding for dear life. in as much as bitcoin investment is concerned its all about choice, and if the choice of the seller to is sell at any point in  time, such idea is shouldn't be neglected, as itbis the priority of each person to make their personal decision at any given time.

 

If the plan is to buy and hold there is nothing absolutely wrong buying even at the peak price, 4 years to 10 years or more is advisable, there is no point waiting or getting scared of a peak price because with the dca strategy you will only be buying but a fraction, or perhaps what is being considered to be a high price will be seen as a dip in the future, Bitcoin has the potential of appreciating or increasing over time, the point is to get the fucking started if you have the money available for investment irrespective of the price point, that is where the DCA strategy of accumulating Bitcoin comes to play it roles by allowing investors to buy Bitcoin with as little or more they can afford comfortablely on different intervals irrespective of the price points either weekly or monthly.

This is is misleading IMO, you can invest in Bitcoin anytime you want and there is no exactly like special moments make you know go lose guard. The best moment anyone can buy Bitcoin is when the price is down, that's when there is bloodbath in the market, that's when you can buy Bitcoin and this usually happens during the bear market. However, you fit also buy now if you practice dollar cost average where you can buy Bitcoin at different price anytime until you reach your target.

The only advantage I see in Christmass season is that some people make alot of money during this festive period, instead of wasting that money into drink and all sort of things that you don't want, use it to buy Bitcoin as investments, you will thank yourself for doing that in the future because price of yesterday fit no be price of tomorrow, make wise decisions.

This is true. But if someone knows what he is doing, he can use different strategy. Some people can prefer to use small amount of money to continue to DCA which is also good. As the price is falling, the person can continue to increase the money he is investing. Also smart DCA can be used. Which means as bitcoin decreases and become oversold using a day candle stick, the person will continue to DCA.

This is a good example but I think bitcoin is not going below $45000 anymore. I do not just pick that price but from analyses. But this is not yet much of a perfect analysis until we know the all-time high. We do not know the all-time high yet.

I continue to be optimistic about Bitcoin but certainly will also use my senses, advocating to buy more at an expensive price is not smart for retail investors. There is nothing as smart as buying your Bitcoin cheap, why waste money to buy 1 when you can wait till you can use the same amount to buy at least 3?

This is why I say that Bitcoin may still rise but it will not make any significant impact above $100,000 before the bearish season takes over. So if someone buys around $100,000 and it goes back to $30,000 before moving back to $150,000 again during the next bull run, what's the smartness in that? Why not wait for te $30,000 to buy?

People have made gains in the early weeks of this month after a new ATH but currently the market is still on the correction stage, thereby giving investors a lot of opportunities to accumulate more Bitcoins before we witness another upsurge, however the wise ones would seize the current opportunity and profit later in the near feature but some people would make errors of selling all their Bitcoin to celebrate the festive period or sell out of panic, that's not a good approach and they'll regret later. Anyways it's wise for people who's investment is long over due to take some portions of the profits to celebrate the festive period, instead of spending everything they've been investing for long-term in the short festive period, people who would take profits when their investment is not yet due to take profit would be considered very foolish if they make such decision.

Festive season had always been the best time for Bitcoin to surge a little higher, at least investors gains a little percentage(ROI) on their buys every November-December of every year as these two months favours the price of Bitcoin precisely.

If you sell your profits and use am for festive season, I no see am as mumu step. Take profit as much as you can while your main capital are still intact. Na those wey never know how this market moves wey go sell everything them get just for festive enjoyment will somewhat loose if they are not thinking of buying back again.

The market has always being unpredictable and that's why it's risky, so I don't see how you will be able to predict the price movement of bitcoin when it's not festive period. Festive period is time to stay with your family and have fun because it's once in a while. During this period it's always a generous time and good food will not be exceptional. This is why I wouldn't buy bitcoin if I don't have extra funds on me, because it's holiday.

OK now I get your point, what caught my attention in your previous comment is the word wrong that you used to start your statement or sentence, despite that we are sharing similar thoughts on the subject matter, bitcoin accumulation is a vassal topic and at that, we have to be careful while reacting to other people thoughts, although waiting for bitcoin to offer discount price before buying may be wrong or right what determine an investor's action to buy bitcoin is the available cash and the cash flow system at investor disposal if someone that has a steady cash flow, and money to put away for a long time can buy bitcoin at whatever price.

But for middle-class low-bitcoin investors that make use of the DCA approach to accumulate bitcoin, they constantly need to monitor the market and apply every necessary patience to wait for the price to get to a favorable position before buying bitcoin, this is two different investors and making use of different approaches in the bitcoin accumulation journey.

Seasons don't determine if you will invest or not. festive season might be the best season  or the worse season, it all depends on the movement of the market in that season. In my own opinion, i don't think festive period is a good time for anything crypto investment, during this period the market movement is unpredictable. So you should probably stay away from crypto investment during festive period.

Every investor wishes is for bitcoin price to dip so they can accumulate enough Bitcoin but always waiting for the price to dip before accumulating is what I won't advise someone to do believe me those who failed to buying Bitcoin now thinking the price is high will definitely regret there action in time coming, make bitcoin at low price only be an opportunity or advantage for an investor to accumulate enough Bitcoin while waiting for it to dip will really delay your Bitcoin accumulation journey ok what if the price did not dip to that particular price you wanted it to be buying that simply means you won't buy right?  Well people may choose to do what they want to do just like I have said you can start accumulating small small using the DCA strategy either weekly or monthly irrespective of the price of Bitcoin and HODL for long periods of time probably 4-10 years and more let the dip only be an advantage to accumulate more Bitcoin because you will be buying at a lower price.

I think you are wrong here trying to wait for the of bitcoin to drop before accumulating Bitcoin is a trading mindset and also believing that the current price of Bitcoin now is high is also wrong what will you then advise when the price hit $500k.
You fit dey wait make bitcoin price dip before buying and the price keep going high waiting for Bitcoin to drop may also lead to procastination where by you may not be able to accumulate Bitcoin at the end if the money is there now is the best time to buy because in time coming the current price you are seeing as high now will definitely be a dip, for you can start up your bitcoin investment using the DCA strategy which will help you accumulate Bitcoin on a regular basis either weekly or monthly regardless of the price of Bitcoin and HODL for long as long as you have made provision for your discretionary income.

Particularly this time is not the best time to buy bitcoin Because the price of Bitcoin right now is still very high and for you to get a good entry price, you need to buy bitcoin when the price is low and avoid entering when the market is already on a bull trend like this current stage of bitcoin price.

Let me tell you one thing. Anytime is the best time to invest in Bitcoin. In as much as we should be aware of how we spend on our festive season as there are many things to do at the beginning of next year. That doesn't make the festive season the best time to invest in Bitcoin. If a individual don't have the money to invest now he can invest later when he is ready and not force himself to abandon celebrations with his family to start investing in Bitcoin.

What difference would it make if they invest now or early quatre of next year. I was expecting you to give me a good reason but i didn't find any listed. From your instance with you and your friend. If you have still bought Bitcoin this year in February, March or April you still be in profit by now. No one stopped you to invest in Bitcoin after the festive period last year. You choose not to invest in Bitcoin at all.

 This year has been a long journey in bitcoin history and many people who invest lately last year have  really gain a lot of money.

Moving forward, this time of the year is the right time to invest in bitcoin because people that did so last year have gain  more than a double of their investment. Meanwhile some people are still doing Mumu by selling their investments just to enjoy this festive season.
 I have a friend who also bought bitcoin last year, we were supposed to buy it together but I instead decided not to buy it and I use my money in compete with other people in last festive season and now my friend that bought bitcoin with his money is worth more than double what he was worth last year.
 
  If u are into bitcoin investments keep holding your investment and if you want to start, start now cause it’s the right time to invest because 2025 will be better than 2024 in the bitcoin space.
