Of course, that would be the perfect time to buy, waiting for that DIP after a token or coin has been listed in the exchanges? o yes that would be great because it is very cheap and most of the time it drops down below the ICO price of the token that is why i dont really buy from these new ICOs,waiting for it to make it on exchanges and buy when most of the people are dumping.

The J curve is not always true, plus if you are a long term investor, you should look at fundamentals, including valuation. Not try to time the market because more times than not, it will go against what you are thinking.

I will stay positive about projects with a purpose just as you are. FOMO has ended and this is the time for real investors to enter the crypto space. As there is not that high demand for any ICO as there was maybe half a year+ ago (people were able to give their money even to monkeys), this scenario is helpful for everyone as developers understood that if they want to stay competitive, having a proof of development/partnership is a must. If they don't their project is very unlikely to reach even the soft cap (or at least not with ease).
It is difficult to buy as everything is at a discount price, isn't it?  Grin

Agreed, but like some1 else say dont invest more than you can afford to lose.

There is a lot of good projects out there with a very affordable price right now.
Some projects that fits well into your graph (still no sign of working product) that i would recommend in these times:

Singularitynet
Arcblock

Buying at the dip is indeed the best thing and the most profitable time to get into these solid altcoins, cheaper than their usual prices i have been doing this simple strategy for 10months and i have been making money every bloodbath market that we has, surely this is great for the few people who are doing this but most of the time people will just wait for the market to recover and losing this opportunity.

I like this approach, you might not get an instant 3x return (however also that becomes less likely with ICOs now) and you don't have to wait until the token is listed on an exchange. I took part in the Gladius ICO and it took them more than 3 months just to get listed on an exchange. I guess the biggest downside is you have to trust in the team's ability to execute and deliver what they promise. How do you make sure you don't invest in project that will never really take off?
Yes that is true,ICOs today are just like gambling, even thoselegit ICOs are getting a hard time to get listed into some major exchange, because these exchanges are getting mor strict in adding new coins because our market is flooded already by these shitcoins,so these exchanges needs to filter these new coins in the market so it wont be just added to the existing shitcoins.

There's no sure way to identify the best performing projects but you can make well informed decisions to give yourself the best chance of identifying them. The ICO market is so saturated now that it is much harder for them to succeed and they're also hard done by because they're compared to past ICOs. Exchanges as you mentioned are an example of this, it is very difficult now for projects to be listed on good exchanges because they're so much competition and those exchanges are already nearing capacity.

You can say that again and again.

But, don't put your pension on it.

Purchasing the coin when it gets on an exchange usually works well. There's so many dumps that the coin gets a lower price then recovers after a month.

I think that this is true for projects which do not have a working product yet.

The ones which have a good working poduct and have some popularity in crypto world the chart can look very different.

But in general i agree with you.

I think it's impossible to guess exactly here. It is necessary to break your deposit into parts and enter the market gradually. Now is the time to begin.

I think that the drop in prices after the ICO is largely due to the bounty hunters who just receive the tokens run to sell to the first bidder, causing a drop in the price...

This analysis is only for projects that are suitable for the market in the future, there will be legal developments created for the market. That means that the projects that can be adapted and adapted will be the same as the above analysis stated

Usefull but remeber:

- in this bear market, phase 1 might start with a curve declining (pre-ICO inverstors flip immediately after the coin is listed)
- Phase 3 works only with a valid product, not with vaporware Smiley

Maybe you have done your research and identified a good startup project but unfortunately you missed investing in it at the ICO stage,  then the next best time to invest in such project is shown at point 2 on the J-curve below.
