In my opinion, every leader expresses exactly the society that elected him. And if we assume that the taste of this entire society is expressed by this leader, then it means this and such a society or a certain community. If you take a group of ten wise people, their leader will be the same person as the totality of all of them, in the same way, 1000 or 100 million intelligent people will not choose one not intelligent. Therefore, the totality of the entire society is an expression of their leaders.
An average dormainative and selfish politicians thought process has always followed this form;
make them unable to think well for themselves and then you can easily dominate them. and how best cab you achieve that if not to deprive them basic education? Most nations that are struggling with economic and peace have leaders that are killing the government educational sector just because they don't want people to have that ability to think for themselves. Go to most African country and look out for there budget and check how much is assigned to to take care of the educational sector? You're mostly observe that it's most times among the least and when people get frustrated with the educational system, they shift attention to just sourcing for any known means of survival and become instrument of destruction in the hands of politicians during election.

That's why people will choose simple and easy ways and will support those political leaders who will say things what people will understood and want to hear.
If we want to make society better then higher education should be mandatory in the society but it's impossible so that's why the smart people have to also suffering of dumb leaders elected by most of the people whos dumb themselfes to choose dumb leaders.
Not even that but dumb people are afraid of smart people so that's why we see extremly educated and smart political leaders not popular at all.
Be very coutious about leaders who say about fairtales but they never explain how or what they will do different ways and where is the innovation in their actions compared with other leaders.
