You can’t change U.S and other government narrative on bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies by few such appointments. We have to understand the reasons why governments are not in favour of cryptos. Tax collection, controlling money laundering and other such things will be a dream for governments if they legitimized crypto in there area of regime.
Its a good thing that a CEO whose allegiance in relation to crypto is wide open to everyone is being appointed to the Senate house. However, this is not the time to rejoice concerning the appointment expecting that there would be regulation to support crypto because for one, it was an appointment and not an election which means the CEO is accountable to the people who makes the appointment. Secondly, making law about the entire financial system of the country or the passing of any law for that matter goes beyond the position of an individual as it needs the support of the majority of both Chambers to get it passed without taking into consideration the Executive bottlenecks that needs to be passed before it becomes law.

The overall mindset of government officials is against bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Bakkt appointment as Georgia senate member won’t make any change in U.S government standings against cryptocurrency. Bitcoin don’t need support of U.S congress as long as it has backing of his own decentralized congress.
As a proponent of bitcoin Bakkt CEO becoming US senator would lobby other members of Senate towards adopting of Bitcoin by SEC although Donald Trump had tweeted that he is not a fan of Bitcoin however the congressmen can pass a positive resolutions if well convinced about the benefits of adoption of Bitcoin by SEC would bring to the US economy thus popularising it.
It will open an opportunity to cryptocurrency to be discussed in the senate if possible that she would push and promote crypto. However, just like any other bill, it will take a lot of time, arguments, and discussion before it could pass the senate. She still needs to make a lot of efforts to convince and educate other government officials about crypto and how it could help the country if they were going to legalize and put regulations on it.
Not so sure though, it still depends on the CEO. Indeed it is generally good for cryptocurrency's image, but the CEO might have another plans, especially it is politics, and power corrupts these peope into doing where they would benefit more that the others.
It could drive the prices up if whales decide to swim with it and manipulate the market, but it won't really assure that there would be any significant effect on the prices.

In my view, when Bakkt CEO is a US senator already, it should have two possibilities.
1. She can be a good negotiator for crypto/Bitcoin adoption, or
2. She will be sued to fight Bitcoin/crypto as she is a part of the trump government.

Totally agreed with you. In the meantime we are suffering hard times since Bakkt' launch and yet its volumes haven't reached real big numbers.
In my view, when Bakkt CEO is a US senator already, it should have two possibilities.

Just because of Pres. Trump hates cryptocurrency, you think that Loefler also hates cryptocurrency or have evil intentions towards it. I think that logic is broken. Each person has different POV and we have seen in the past that Loefler is one of those who promote cryptocurrency. I think this event will help Cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin to be legalized and be accepted in the US though I am sure cryptocurrency regulation and taxation will be pushed also.
Politics is a very different world from the normal world. If she is for bitcoin, but does not have a lot of support from the people of her state and her party, she is more likely not to talk about making good laws for bitcoin. One way for the central banks to reduce the impact of Bitcoin globally, is for them to own all the Bitcoin. This probably won't happen, but if they own enough, then they can destabilise the market, and destroy public confidence in it daily use. I still wonder how many mining farms are owned by central banks.

Now this is a good news. We now know that one government official is now a pro-Bitcoin and I think it will give a positive impact on the overall view of the masses to Bitcoin. I don't see it as positive news because BAKKT is overhyped and is in fact not doing anything for the price. The CEO is also reluctant to say anything about Bitcoin in her interviews. When asked about her views as a politicians she said that she's anti-abortion, trump supporter and all that but nothing about cryptocurrencies. This should ring a bell. She's in crypto for the money and bakkt is supposed to make her more fiat money.
I can see in the 2020s that there will be bitcoin maximalists that infiltrate government ranks to turn it inside out.
Recently a user on Twitter published that Bakkt physical delivery contracts can only be withdrawn through official brokers who do not give you Bitcoin, only fiat, so in theory are already cash settlements contracts.

It really depends on what committee positions she holds, and that's what should be paid attention to. If she sits on any financial committees, that would really be noteworthy. Unless some policies will roll out, its not that helpful. Someone from Georgia should call their office as a constituent to find out.

The more that we have crypto-friendly people sitting in many positions (both elected and appointed) the more that the causes championed by the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency community can be heard and be influential. In fact. I am dreaming that one day this community can be a big voice that can be a force in an election. However, we should also be careful that cryptocurrency will not be mixed with political colors and persuasions but that of the interest of the people alone. In addition, the reason why Ted Casino may have a hard time in any national election is because he is very much identified with the left, the group which is falling out of flavor with the people with the rise of Mr. Duterte.
