If I remember correctly, scientists actually studied this effect. It's quite common.
They were able to disprove it by just simply putting an object on top of a cabinet outside of view from the ground. No one was able to describe the object post surgery.

Few days ago I was researching Near Death Experience or Out of body Experience when i came across this interesting video of this lady who is blind from birth:

- She had a serious car accident later in life.
- Died for few minutes in hospital. - Saw herself floating above her real body.
- Saw the doctors/nurses. Heard all they were saying and doing.
This can't be hallucinations,right? It absolutely should not happen if human consciousness is as simple as they want us to believe.
