Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
I just woke up too and thank goodness for the existence of this thread. I was glad to see Bitcointalk accessible again from my location. Honestly idk if it was my old computer or my ISP.
A user from the old times... Good to have you back buddy! I almost thought this was a trick to pull our legs but, how did you prefer announcing your return on an old thread?

I'm just wondering if it'd ever happen - that I'm offline for years without showing up to read updates and stuff. OP, maybe you didn't realize you could mask your IP?
I think it's better if you create a new topic about this because there might have been some changes regarding this "recently woke up" note.
which is why he decided to post in this thread? Maybe!

Welcome back.
Do you mean for years since you couldn't access here, you haven't made any sincere efforts to use a VPN or Tor browser? Now you have bumped a thread upto 5 years old, who will lock it.

For those who will read Op and want to continue discussion. Theymos already answered the question and I don't think anything has changed about it because things hardly change here.
You're considered to have woken up if your last login time is 180+ days ago, and the message remains for 30 days.
This duration is same for email change while password change is 3 days warning.

It is more likely that your ISP is to blame because in some countries this forum is blocked.
I don't know what countries banned bitcointalk besides china and russia.

If you @rexxarofmoknathal is indeed from one of these countries then you should use VPN from the beginning accessing the forum, cause you don't know you are already traced. But I could think that this is cause by cloudflare only since the forum used it, and CF unblock your ip address's range so you able to access the site again.

Hey, welcome back! Be careful on bumping old threads. This thread is more than 5 years old. I think it's better if you create a new topic about this because there might have been some changes regarding this "recently woke up" note.

Also, if you don't mind since you've returned to the forum, you could sign an old bitcoin address you posted here before. It's not required, just a suggestion to avoid unnecessary issues with your account.

I think what makes it to appear in yellow color is base on the users have stayed long before they logins, I don't think that happened as a result of the user change email or password, because user change email it will color red because I have meet some users their own appears red and when you use bpip.org to check the forum profile you notice that neither it change mail or password, but this particular indication is letting us to know that the user have stayed long period of a time before logins its forum account, I think the write will disappear after it has been active for at least 3 weeks or 1 month.

Why would an old computer be the reason you couldn't access BTT? It is more likely that your ISP is to blame because in some countries this forum is blocked. However, if by any chance you tried VPN/Tor, you might have found out what the problem was earlier, and not after 3 years - anyway happy return Wink

This is true, it is the same if user change e-mail or password as warning to other users that they should be careful when dealing with such users if account is change owner (sold account), or maybe is just hacked. Before of this warning hacker or new user of account could do a lot of damage to other users before DT members red tag that account.
There is another user who recently woke up: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/account-seller-or-hacked-please-check-this-account-5027497

Need Forum Moderator?? PM me.
I am wondering if this has since been changed so that both are displayed for 30-days?

As I mentioned before I am sure that a password change is not displayed 30 days. I have seen such case in local board. It is displayed for 3 days only.

Are the messages displayed on a user's profile for Password Resets and Password Changes the same message? It says that changes will only display for 3 days, but resets will show for 30. I am wondering if this has since been changed so that both are displayed for 30-days? That thread ends in 2014, so it's been awhile and realistically there may have been updates/changes.

I believe the message remains for 30-days after it has been triggered, but I will have to do a bit more reading/research before I can say definitively.

Don't know how much time the warning is shown if a user changes email but if a user changes its password, the warning shows less than 1 month (I am sure), although I am not sure how much time exactly it shows the warning. I think it's not more than one week.

Edit-
a password change will be shown for 3 days.

The criteria that triggers this message has been outlined in the past. Regularly you can find information regarding a particular topic by just using the Forum Search function. I'm horrible at using the Search function, but I just searched for "This user recently woke up from a long period of inactivity." and it warranted this :

It shows up if a user has logged in with their last login time being at least 6 months ago.

Hi. I saw this orange warning message in the users profile below:

This user recently woke up from a long period of inactivity.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/snarlpill-271877

I have two questions just out of interest:

1 How long does someone have to be inactive for that message to be shown.
2 How long is it shown for.

Apologies if these have been asked and answered before. I did a search but couldn't find anything. Will lock the thread once I get an answer.
