No thats not the card. I dont think thats the best bang for your buck either. The one I sent back was an asus open box. It never worked right had all kinds of bios issues right out of the (open) box. I ordered an msi board today, but not that one. Im going to use pcie2.0 slots on the baord and 1x risers on the 1x slots.

By any chance was the ASUS Open Box you had problems with one of the M4A79XTD EVO boards?

If not can you list which model it is?

that 5 PCIe motherboard is next for me.

i've got 3 miners up with MSI two-slot motherboards, and they're tremendous - very good quality.  i have an ASUS one-slot that i couldn't pass up - openbox for $20.00 and i had a bunch of parts laying around (like a 20 Gig IBM IDE HDD -  Cheesy ) - so i put a frankenputer together around a lightly-used 5870 a gamer friend didn't like.  works OK, but not as configurable or as... hard to explain, but i've been a hardware network hack for thirty years... stable-feeling as the MSIs.

oh yeah... nice motherboard.  it kinda needs a pretty frame around it.  like this:

oh hey - i don't care what you do for a living, what you do for fun, or how you justify combining the two for investment purposes:  there's always room for a little fun.

or you're doing it wrong...

Best bang for your buck right there. You can get a 35 dollar sempron, and fill it out.

Works great. Have 4 cards on it now! Tongue

I just got an open box one of those on the way. I'm hoping it's not the one he's talking about.

Im sending back another Mobo to new egg today. This was an open box that just died. My hash rates were halfed on one of my cards so I rebooted and nothing.

I am in need of a good board that wont break the bank. Any suggestions would be wonderful. Combo of pcie 16x and 1x would be just fine as long as all slots are accessible.

Thank you!

What was the model you're sending back? You said 'another', it is the second time you sent back the same model?

Asus p8p67 WS Revolution has 4 usable pcie slots @ 8x bandwidth. Msi Bing Bang can also do 4 cards

Have you considered using riser extender cables? Someone is selling them in the marketplace forum.
It will simplify motherboard choice a lot because you don't need 4 properly spaced slots then.

Find some old asrock mobo for sli, am2 or s.775 ... whatever you can find. They are rock-solid and easily repairable...
