I know them from their explorer and yes blocktrail has a great service with their explorer.
But no, I would not use them for a wallet. I am sure they have good intentions, but too may wrong things done by new companies have happened.

I'm thinking of switching to blocktrail's online wallet instead of using blockchain.info
Yes, I know online wallets are unsecure but I will not be keeping a lot of funds on it.
I'm wondering if any of you have used it before, and how your experience went.

I would want to give my almost three years experience with my online wallet Coinbase. Most shortly possible:

1. Any kind of fee paid during every send of bitcoin during all the above time. All the fees of the send of bitcoin from wallet are paid by Coinbase.
2. Never any kind of problem. During almost three years I had need to contact the support three-four times mainly for my problems or problems not regarding the functionality of the wallet. Everything worked perfectly in every moment.
3. Naturally exist 2 step verification. But with a big superiority regarding the other options. Are given 2 or 3 options to chose. I have chosen that with Authy. Which consist in install the api of Authy in your smartphone and the code to enter is created (more than one) in your smartphone in the moment when is need to put it in the needed place. So no need to wait for the sms which arrive only one time in ten tentatives.
4. Over 3 million customers. Buy and sell bitcoins within your wallet with the best prices in the market (absolutely).
5. 98% of customer funds are stored offline. Offline storage provides an important security measure against theft or loss. Coinbase distribute bitcoin geographically in safe deposit boxes and vaults around the world.
6. Store your own private keys. You can create a multisig vault in minutes, just like you would a regular vault or wallet. The difference is that you're in total control of your private keys.

MAIN FEATURES

You control the majority of the keys
Keys are created and encrypted in the browser
Send bitcoin with ease using only your password
Buy bitcoin directly into the vault
Invite up to 5 co-signers to a group vault

7. Coinbase is insured against employee theft and hacking in an amount that exceeds the average value of online bitcoin it holds at any given time. Specifically, Coinbase's insurance policy would respond in the event that bitcoin stored in Coinbase was lost or stolen as a result of a breach of their physical security, cyber security, or as a result of employee theft. Coinbase has held this insurance since November 2013 with highly rated carriers (S&P rating of A+ or A.M. Best Rating of A XV or higher).

if you want more do a search with the word "Coinbase" in internet and open the first website which will be shown as a result of the search. Will find other interesting things to learn about this not only wallet.

Quick question... are you using blocktrail in an app on your phone primarily or just the website? If you're needing a good phone app that seems pretty secure for me that I hold a decent amount of bitcoins on, Breadwallet is a good one.  It connects directly to the blockchain and you are in full control of your private keys, while also you can require a biometric thumb print password, which personally I like.  It's simple, very functional, and looks really good.

But if you are going to use it for a web wallet primarily then yeah I would say go ahead with using blocktrail, if you don't want to use any other type of wallet.
I was mostly going to use it for the app.
Made an account but then realized I couldn't use my own keys, so not using them anymore. Might try Breadwallet, looks good.

I also left some cash a while ago in blockchain.info, and I almost had a earth attack when the password I was setting didn't work. I managed to end up being able to access I don't know how, but I had some problems like, balance would show 0, then after some time it would show the correct number. I can't imagine what would happen if this happened to me with a real amount of money.

I have never used it but I guess it's ok. If you are going to use it for spare change amounts of Bitcoin it doesn't really matter. I've had a small amount of BTC for 1+ year in bockchain.info just to test it, like 10 dollars, and they are still there.
