Useless, there are other exchanges for that,

I'm not aware of any exchange that has USD and more than 10 alts. That's my whole point.

and it will only complicate craptsy's position, thus potentially complicating the users' life a huge lot (just think of exchanges like kraken that don't allow you to even deposit cryptocurrencies without giving them your personal data because of anti-money-laundering government crap).

I actually feel much better trading on a properly regulated platform like kraken or cryptsy. To me it means that the exchange can't just be wiped out or blocked by the government for failing to meet anti-money-laundering requirements.

I'm looking forward to some decentralized exchanges which obviously would be regulation free, but I'm not aware of any that are functional enough to use yet.

I think it would bee good. Adding dollar will increase buying coins for cash. Also they have to make list what coin are in this to buy.

Just wondering what people think about cryptsy adding USD (as appears to be the case) and the effect it will have on the alts?

Currently to trade alts people need to buy bitcoins somewhere else and then move them to an altcoin exchange which is possibly a bit scary / difficult for new users.

But soon I think it will be possible for U.S. users to send USD to cryptsy, trade for BTC (or LTC, DOGE, FTC), and then trade straight into alts all without ever having to leave the site or use a bitcoin address.

I'm wondering if this might boost some alts as non-technical investors find it easier to get their money into the alts?
