I deleted your thread because it was a duplicate of your Alt. Cryptocurrencies service thread. Besides alt coin services don't belong in Gambling. BTW, I'm a patroller (I can moderate newbie content globally).

It was posted on the Gambling thread and not the Alt-Cryptos thread because it is a Gambling thread... It's actually a lot more related to Bitcoin than third party websites are. Yes if you will 'XCP' is traded as an alt-currency on exchanges - but if we get technical here all XCP are is embedded Blockchain data.  As opposed to what the millions of Centralized websites that have absolutely nothing to do with the Blockchain and are only on this forum because they accept Bitcoin as a method of payment?

And more specifically  https://xcpfeeds.info is directly and solely related to making Bets/Contracts on the Bitcoin Blockchain.

All altcoins, including those operating on other coins' blockchains, are considered as an alt coin discussion. That includes XCP and the well known Mastercoin.

Edit: Badbear beat me to it, but it still stands.

So I have three points:
a) I don't think reposting something on two Forums in different languages, or explained in different terms geared towards a different audience is Spam. Is it an ideal of use of content space? Probably not. Are all of these threads 100X times more worthwhile than 50% of the Content on this forum? Almost certainly.

b) A thread about a Website is not an Alt-Cryptocurrency announcement I beg to differ. Please provide one strand of logical reasoning for how a poker website that accepts BTC is more 'Bitcoin related'. At least in the case of this Website I would say it is significantly more interesting to Bitcoin user that want to Gamble, than to people speculating on Altcoins. (Which I think really must be the sole judgment criteria towards Poker sites which accept Bitcoin, as opposed to Poker sites that accept Credit Cards).

c) I could probably unearth at least 3 Mastercoin threads that ran in Project development. You might disagree with it now - but they were never moved out of there during their lifespan.

edit: Also d) http://xcpfeeds.info has a BIP32 Wallet, which is clearly Bitcoin related,
a)Reposting a thread in a Local subforum, correctly translated and on topic is not spam, because the Local boards are usually a self contained forum - with it's own mods and community. The english speaking audience doesn't visit it often and many of the local members hang around mostly in their Local board.

Other main boards are visited by many users thus if there are several threads in several sections, it often annoys users, myself included, and adds mostly nothing since the audience is usually the same as in every duplicate.

b)It's an altcoin that operates on the Bitcoin's blockchain thus it belongs in the Alt. Cryptocurrencies board. People go to the main boards to avoid these kind of "projects".

c)Be my guest. Report them to the moderator and the appropriate mods will handle it.

d)But the whole service is still mainly based around XCP. And that BIP32 wallet supports XCP, doesn't it?

a) I see your point.

c) I guess your policy changes with Moderator moods, I assume this month's mood is different. Although I do see Namecoin https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/announce-namecoin-a-distributed-naming-system-based-on-bitcoin-6017 ?

d) It does support XCP, but you can also send/receive BTC and sign raw transactions (which for example blockchain.info does not support).

And to the mainpoint, Please explain on account of which criterion a Poker site is placed into Gambling:
- A user sends BTC or pays with credit card
- A user receives Chips specific to that Poker Site (like centralized premined altcoin or something?)
- A user plays on that sites centralized server
- A user sells his chips to cash out to a card or BTC

Using xcpfeeds.info:
- A user can use a decentralized exchange to buy xcp for btc
- A user places a bet on the blockchain and is matched with another user
- A users bet is resolved through information embedded in the blockchain
- A user cashes out his xcp on the decentralized exchange for btc

I see similar 'Alt' steps in 1 & 4 for both Poker and xcpfeeds. At the very least as far as I can tell all that makes Poker relevant to the Bitcoin threads Again is that they accept Bitcoin. Which Counterparty does (accept bitcoin i mean?), which actually can be traded peer-to-peer directly from a users Bitcoin wallet. Steps 2 and 3 in the Poker scenario are obviously completely irrelevant to Bitcoin, where as steps 2 &3 in the Counterparty protocol are not.

I'd rather you actually got back to me on the whole Poker site logic, but TL:DR Correct me if I'm wrong the ultimate point of Forum sections/boards (generally speaking) is to enable users to find relevant material with a higher success rate. We could take a poll but I am overwhelmingly sure Gamblers find xcpfeeds.info more relevant than alt-coin (um idk the name), so I think you're really just picking at semantics at this point to preserve your earlier decision of deleting my thread. (Which by the way I primarily had a problem with not because it was deleted, but because I was not notified about it).

edit: You're seriously going to delete my thread from Gambling because you apparently have no logical arguments left, and nothing better to do with your life? (C'mon there are like 2000 scams on Bitcointalk at worst you could waste your life on that).
c) Namecoin was posted when the Alt. Cryptocurrencies forum wasn't available (I think, this where you'll have to ask some longer time mods). The thread is there for historical reasons. Your thread is new.

d)Chips are not alternate cryptocurrency, it's a database entry in a website, usually non transferable, bought with Bitcoins or symbolizing a fixed amuont of bitcoins.

I did not delete your new thread (I'm not the only mod here), but I would have if I noticed. Scams are not moderated here - too much room for abuse, especially when such conflicts occur over a simple duplicate deletion.

Apparently if you make an alt-account to represent a website you built, and a moderator sees that you have only 5 posts (indiscriminately of the information quality of those posts) that empowers them to harass you anonymously.
i.e. if you spam the spam gets deleted? Fine for me!

What part of an Announcement is spam to you? Maybe you need to go wash your eyes out.

Separate child boards don't exist so you can post your announcement in a bunch of them, it's for proper categorization.

Using the blockchain doesn't mean it doesn't belong in alt currencies, look at the mastercoin threads for precedent.

Basically my point is send a PM next time you have to delete a thought-out-post so at least the person that spent time  writing said post (which was not a duplicate btw) can know who to ask about what the hell is wrong with it.

Who is the Sub-Forum admin? Thanks.

If you are talking about the "gambling" section (or any sections that don't explicitly mention the mods), it is handled by the global mods. Smiley

EDIT: Thanks mitzie for moving the thread to meta.
