Ran a lending thread for a while, currently paused but will start again in a month or so. Will answer only related to loans I've given through the forum.

1)What is the lowest or smallest ever amount you have loaned out?

200 USD.

2) What is the highest or largest ever amount you have loaned out?

Around 500 USD.

3) What is the approximate ratio between loans with collateral being unpaid and loans being fully repaid?

Haven't given a collateral backed loan so far.

4) What is the approximate ratio between loans without collateral being unpaid and loans being fully repaid?

100% paid.

5) What is the approximate ratio between loans that are fully repaid on time vs fully repaid but not on time?

91% paid on time. 9% not on time.

6) What is the biggest profit you made on a loan?

80 USD.

7) What is the biggest loss you have incurred as a result of non-payment?

275 USD. Trade related. Could've opened a trade with that money and make 275.

Thank you shasan, DarkStar_ and zazarb for your very detailed and informative replies.

If I were ever going to run a business, I think lending would be near the bottom of the list. It seems far too risky for my liking but I have to congratulate all the lenders here because it is a tough business to be in and they are still here years after they started.

I did not do exact analyses, these are only very superficial data Smiley

4) What is the approximate ratio between loans without collateral being unpaid and loans being fully repaid
30:70

5) What is the approximate ratio between loans that are fully repaid on time vs fully repaid but not on time
It is difficult to calculate, maybe 50:50 if count loans with extension as "fully repaid but not on time"

6) What is the biggest profit you made on a loan
6.05BTC interest for 15-16 months loan.

7) What is the biggest loss you have incurred as a result of non-payment
5BTC (without counting interest) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1161170.1660
and 6BTC with collateral which value dropped radical, (at that time borrower stopped respond) and later completely disappeared after cryptopia bankruptcy.

It would have been informative to have read what any other lender might have had to say on their experiences therefore hopefully some may find their way to this thread and would think about commenting.

Sure, I'll bite.

1) What is the lowest or smallest ever amount you have loaned out
The smallest amount I can remember was 0.01BTC back in 2016, so it was around $7 USD. I might have done a gas fee loan at some point but I don't recall a specific instance.

2) What is the highest or largest ever amount you have loaned out
Somewhere around ~$20000 when loaned out. I'm guessing the value for that loan peaked at around ~$30000.

3) What is the approximate ratio between loans with collateral being unpaid and loans being fully repaid
No clue. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 1:10 just because of a single default and a low number of collateralized loans.

4) What is the approximate ratio between loans without collateral being unpaid and loans being fully repaid
1:160 on the current iteration of my lending service. (or I guess 1:110 if you include a loan I privately gave to yogg)

5) What is the approximate ratio between loans that are fully repaid on time vs fully repaid but not on time
I consider all loans as on time since interest is calculated on a daily basis  Tongue

6) What is the biggest profit you made on a loan
There was a loan where I profited around 0.15BTC. I can't remember if there was anything larger.

7) What is the biggest loss you have incurred as a result of non-payment
0.23BTC, though this was while the price of Bitcoin was under 10k.

Seems like you are the only lender here that has any interest in sharing views and experiences about what it is like to be a lender in the forum.

It would have been informative to have read what any other lender might have had to say on their experiences therefore hopefully some may find their way to this thread and would think about commenting.

I have edited my previous post, thank you. Now all the question is perfect.

Thank you for participating. Please re-recheck all your answers, I edited the questions and numbers for clarity therefore try to re-post by editing your post when you have time.

I think question number 3 and question number 7 are the same.

1) Probably 2$ for erc20 fee.
2) 3000$ at the time of the loan (but larger at the time of repayment/default)
3) Only 2 unpaid. but can't remember how many paid.
4) 5 to 10% unpaid and 90 to 95% paid
5) 85% on time and 15% extension
6) Can't Remember as I have no fixed interest.
7) 70000 Doge which was a lot at the time of default.

I think question number 3 and question number 7 are the same.

self-moderated to keep this thread clean from trolls, attention-seekers and signature spammers

Lenders have contributed immensely to the ecosystem that falls within this wonderful forum of ours. They have allowed others to take loans both with and without collateral and have evolved as lenders when required over a period of time. Would any lenders be able to shed some light on various aspects of their business practices and experiences?:

This thread is for lenders therefore in part has been self-moderated in order to keep on topic from lenders rather than have non-lenders posting off topic. I hope they will answer the questions as I have been curious about this for some time and maybe others have been too.
