Is this actually something to worry about?
No. It's hard as hell to get banned here.

1) Never give your actual phone number out. I only give my Skype phone number out. Everyone calls it on here thinking they are trolling me, but then I record it and play it for friends who laugh and laugh.

2) No number is actually blocked. You can always find out who it is. It would be technically illegal for them to block it completely due to the strict laws countries have in the US (which is where I think you are located, correct?)

3) STAY OFF OF MY BITCOIN FORUM YOU ASSHOLE, YOU'RE BANNED!

You should not be giving out your phone number in a public forum to people you don't know..

LOL, this.

Don't ever put personal information up on the Internet.

Chances are it's just some prick troll that thought it'd be funny.

You could always try to do a reverse phone look up or register his phone number to a shetload of junkmail/spam sites for being a jack@ss.

I just woke up to the sound of my phone ringing, nobody ever calls me at this time of day so I figured it must be an emergency, then some guy on a blocked number started saying "stay off of my bitcoin forum you asshole, you're banned" over and over, so anybody have a similar experience? Is this actually something to worry about? I can't think why anyone would want to ban me because I have never done anything worth banning me, let alone calling me.
Someone called you?

How could they possibly get your phone number?

I used it for a transaction in a thread.

If you get a phone call again I would tell them you're calling the cops.
