Yep. It seems strange, I'm smiling when I read the topic title. I mean we don't know who Satoshi is, we are not sure whether he is a man or a woman. even we don't know if Satoshi is a single person or a group of people. So, how can someone build his statue? Cheesy

Instead of Satoshi's statue, it's more like an anonymous Bitcoin user. I'm very sure Satoshi will deny it when he see the statue, it is probably not similar as Satoshi face since it is faceless.

TBH, I also have a big question why Hungary can make Satoshi's statue. Are they really friendly with Satoshi and Bitcoin ecosystem? As far as I know, there is no clear policy related to crypto in Hungary.

It does not add anything to the status of Satoshi in the BTC community and those who made this statue didn't erect it for that reason. The statue was just erected as a nice or cool gesture towards Satoshi for creating something as great as BTC, i don't see the harm done in this, it is an anonymous statue and nothing more. It is also a good tourist attraction for bitcoiners who vsisit Hungary and people are allowed to visit the site without paying.

The art work is so beautiful it’s so nice seeing people recognize Satoshi despite his anonymity, sometimes I wonder why did Satoshi choose to stay anonymous but with such popularity and recognition by everyone it’s best. I’m just seeing this probably I hardly discover more about Satoshi details since it’s private, the event and statue can be considered as tourism where people pay money just to view an event besides I’m not surprised since bitcoin is so popular and known by almost everyone.

Believe me, someone can't love Satoshi less, if they have found out what Satoshi has really done for all humanity to be the one in control of their finances.

I believe, there's more to this, not for the love and memory of Satoshi, but for how Satoshi has brought wealth to human race. If we all can recall, 2021 was crypto bull run, which gave rise to many people becoming millionaires in crypto space, which I am not mistaken, the two fellas who have statue built in memory of Satoshi were among the millions of people, Bitcoin investment made millionaires.

To mark and remember what Satoshi has done for the human race, Gergely Réka and Tamás Gilly took upon themselves to show respect and love in having a statue of the unknown individual ''satoshi'' who made that happen, so that the whole world would know of him because he has done what many world leaders can't do for their citizenry, to give them financial breakthrough

I don't see how the erection of this statue had anything to do with anyone in government, the people behind the sculture are known and the names of the four of them is on the website. They also do not know the identity of Satoshi, isn't that why they made an anonymous statue.

Thank you for this interesting information, in fact this is the first time I hear about erecting a memorial statue to commemorate Satoshi, the anonymous founder of Bitcoin, this is a great initiative from those who made the statue to commemorate the most important man in modern times.

I am surprised that the government of a country that does not officially adopt Bitcoin allows erecting a statue of Satoshi in a public place, maybe this is due to freedom in the country or maybe for tourism reasons and attracting visitors I do not know but in any case this is a very great initiative and they deserve thanks for it.

That is the advantage of bitcoin because it is not attached to the individual creator and even people never know who he is and how life can affect him after bitcoin becomes more developed as it is now. People see something different in bitcoin and people see that there are many advantages that can be born so that the statue becomes a symbol as something that needs to be immortalized but it is only a illusion and only part of the admiration that people show.

Bitcoin has given birth to the freedom that is expected especially to achieve a better financial stage. The great work created by Satoshi is a spectacular invention and will probably be the best that has ever existed before in investment instruments.

I like this idea. Even though we have no personal information of Satoshi, I think it is a good symbolism. His privacy is protected, he is anonymous the same way we are when we use bitcoin. This is why I do not think that we desperately need to know or see who Satoshi Nakamoto is. We use bitcoin with our privacy protected and safe so we should do the same for the creator of Bitcoin.

For sure, the artist of this have done his homework as he needed to understand how he will make a statue out of thin air and had no idea how to portray an anonymous person. Also, the initiator of the project, Andras Gyorfi, a Bitcoin journalist- believes on this technology. Hence, his initiatives was to complete this project as he collected donations among bitcoin enthusiasts

I don't remember this event, or maybe i haven't actually seen it before; however i think it is a cool thing to do, it may not mean much in the grand scheme of this, but it is evidence that people appreciate what Satoshi was able to do for all of us by creating this decentralized currency called BTC.

The statue can also be a tourist attraction for bitcoiners, i mean bitcoiners who came to Hungary for vacation or for some other business may consider visiting this site.

Satoshi deserves more than a statue and it's great to see these exceptional Hungarians putting up this great work. It took Gergely Réka and Tamás Gilly four months to design and produce the artwork. They got support from András Györfi, Gabi Debreczeni-Raskó, Debreczeni Barnabás, Imre Szilágyi and Kornél Kalocsai. Graphisoft Park, Budapest, Hungary, is now a tourist site since most crypto enthusiasts in the City will like to see it. I would even like to see it and take pictures with it. It will not also be out of place to support the same project in my location.

The thing there is that, the status must be faceless because those that design it doesn't have the real face of Satoshi, so the Bitcoin inventor represent privacy and anonymousness so for that it have no too much to be said why the statue is faceless, I remember reading this somewhere around the Forum when I was First introduced into this Forum back in 2021 and seeing this thread reminded me of the significant impact of those individuals to honor the great Bitcoin inventor Satoshi Nakamoto, and we have to look forward to some great time ahead for Bitcoin and all it supporters.

I guess the reason why Gergely Réka and Tamás Gilly might have made the statue faceless could have been as a result of the anonymity which the Bitcoin white paper portrays about Satoshi Nakamoto, been an individual whose identity not known to the public, and that might have been the reason why the scrupture was made halfway, since Satoshi's gender isn't known to the public.

The figure of Satoshi Nakamoto is unknown. What gender, the shape of the face, the color of the skin, the height and others as a human.

The statue picture is familiar to me and often appears in my X account.
Although it is more similar to a human with a male sex, but I still assume that it is only a form of admiration even though over time it will result in many people assume that the figure of himself is a male sex. I wonder what is the contents of the writing written there.

I like the question that was asked and the answer given. It was on this forum that I first read about this in 2021. Hungary is a great country, I don't think that the government of my country would allow the faceless sculpture of Satoshi to remain standing for even a month they would have brought it down. Well the point of this is that, for me I am still hear in the crypto world because of the freedom it has given me to escape a tyrannical and oppressive regime while still living in the country. So yes, thank you Satoshi.
