works for me, ya

Thanks for reporting, I'm obviously 'collateral damage' in a wider ban.

I sent an e-mail to their customer care regarding the issue.

I've been trying to access TigerDirect.com for 48 hours now, always getting this:

Code:
Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://www.tigerdirect.com/" on this server.
Reference

I thought my IP was blacklisted for some reason (previous DHCP leaser was compromised and DDoSing or something alike), but I have tried from a different ISP and I'm still getting the same. Even when proxying from Google Translate, same error (translated...).

According to their Twitter everything is OK for them.

Both IPs that I used were from Switzerland, but if they were geo-locating and rejecting foreign IPs for some reason, I would expect to be redirected to some service page instead of a plain 403 Forbidden page.

So any ideas why I can't access their website? Can you?

Edit: tried from a Rackspace IP using one of my VPS, it works from there.

I also learned that despite it being the same company (TigerDirect.com), the retail location near me would not accept my Online Gift Card, which makes me furious.  I am relegated to dealing with their Florida office who seem totally incompetent.

Don't bother with Online support chat associates, you will have to call and get someone during the day Mon-Friday before 4:30pm Eastern or you're SOL in terms of getting things done.

Soon enough, New Egg, Fry's, and CDW will accept btc and I won't have to manually release my orders.

Have you got in touch with a manager?

So...because the first order was royally botched...I got lots of gift certificates because that is the only way you will get anything back after sending your
bitcoin to them if they don't send you products.

Second verse, same as the first.  Used my certs to buy another order, used bitcoin to pay the balance and get the 20.00 discount for paying with bitcoin.

Waited three days, and finally decided to contact support again after noticing "Not Shipped" was yet again the default for bitcoin purchases.

Had to contact support, reminded them they could look up transactions themselves on Blockchain.info and that they were quite incompetent to be accepting
a currency they cannot seem to process despite it being already in their bank as US Dollars.  Had to give them the transaction ID to the transaction they
requested I complete last saturday.

Noticed they overcharged me again in taxes (something you may want to check with every order, as it is getting me close to free shipping every time now, in the form of yet another gift certificate).

So, hopefully later today a manager will declare I have in fact paid and release my order...5 days after ordering.  I am unimpressed Tiger.

Sad. I guess you are just going to have to wait for newegg to accept bitcoin.

They should put up a review thread so people can give them reviews and such, PLus maybe help out a few people who need help.

By "they" do you mean tigerdirect or CoinsforTech?
Sorry, I meant Tiger Direct.

Well, they do have customer support.
For bitcoin? That seems a little hard for customer reps to understand.

Yep, you are right. The more popular bitcoin becomes the more they will understand it though.

i ordered on the 25th, coins are out of my wallet and they claim they dont have them. when i called customer support, i was told to "call bitcoin". theres no way i can explain to this poor guy answering phones how bitcoin works in 5 minutes. i have a total of 2 days, 10 phone calls, 10 emails, to both tiger direct and bitpay, and it doesnt look like anyone has a fucking clue. not a good start at all.

What's worse, I knew Tiger might not be all that fantastic at handling Bitcoin orders so I specifically contacted a support rep yesterday who assured me it would be here today as promised.  Today I learned that was BS and it still has not been processed, claiming they are still waiting on my payment.  I ordered Next Day shipping hoping these would be here now.

I'm rather pissed, and it's after hours already so I'll have to contact support tomorrow again to make sure they pull their head out of their ass and ship the damned cards I ordered.

They also appear to have overcharged me on the taxes according to the confirmation email I received.

So now I'm out almost 5 days of mining minimum because they don't know how to look up an invoice.

 Angry

*Supposedly a manager is scheduled to call me within 24-48 hours and I was supposed to get a notice from another rep regarding the overcharge.  Neither has occurred yet.

Im sorry you had to go through all this... Sad

Well, so far they have royally F-ed up my order, and it's proving to be quite the pain in the ass.  Should've sent the funds to Bitpay and gone to their physical store...support techs say they have to confirm I paid...which I did two days ago for an order that should have been here today, but they have yet to ship.

 Huh Angry

I ordered some headphones and they arrived on time. I didn't have any issues. I hope that you will get whatever you ordered soon! Smiley

Google would implement this payment option in the Play Store and other Google Wallet checkout points.

Maybe even Adsense.
God I hope not, Adsense is annoying... xD

I kind of like it, except for that fact that you have to verify a lot of info. If you didnt know, bitads is non functional so it would be a great replacement.

Hey guys! I just read that tiger direct is now accepting bitcoin! More info here:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/bitcoin/

As with Overstock I've never heard of this retailer before, but I'm all for any store that starts accepting Bitcoins. I hope it has a snowball effect and I'm sure it'll only be a matter of time before the big retailers take note.

Overstock is a clothing store. I know one very large company that will accept bitcoins in a month or so. Also google plans to accept bitcoins. They are taking suggestions as to what they should do. The two main things are google wallet storing bitcoins, and Adsense accepting and paying in bitcoins.

Overstock sells all kinds of stuff. And what's this company? I really can't see Google accepting or dealing with Bitcoin any time soon, but I hope I'm wrong because that would be huge.

Why not? Google hosted a poll as to which part of their company should use bitcoin.

It's just a poll... don't think that means they'll definitely implement it.

I know its not 100%, but I think they will still do it.

without holding poll they can use for all ad sense advertising and for payments its not a big problem for them if they are going to join this

They just want to know what users would prefer. They will probably end up doing it...

Tigerdirect is the second largest personal computer hardware supplier after Newegg. While it is a big deal in itself, I'm more excited by the idea that Newegg may see that they are losing business to their competition in the form of Bitcoin sales, so that could influence Newegg to accept Bitcoins as well.
