Assessing the situation before getting in is a wise decision that suits the quality of a good investor for he thinks of the possibilities that may come if he will be taking potential profits upon doing it or not. A gambler will be taking up too much risk putting his money in line with no assurance if there will be a good chance or probability that he will gain from such idea.

The current market declination seems to be a good opportunity for an investor to buy a low price but still upon doing assessment will be the time when he will just decide to take risk in such way that he will take profit. Being a gambler at times like this will take a big possibility of just wasting money if you will not take precautions.

That's right, right now, when the price of bitcoin is in such a big decline. If it were me, I'd buy it!

Buying BTC during dips is probably the perfect time for you if you were planning to invest in crypto but you should consider first what type of investor you are. It's better to be an "Investor" who has risk management when putting money into financial plans with the hope of profit whether it's small or big. Someone who does his/her own research and invest money which he/she can afford to lose any time. So don't be a gambler who invests all of his/her savings just because someone told him/her to do so.

If you just buy bitcoin without trying to analyze the price movement, maybe you are a gambler because you just guess that the price will increase in the next hours or days. But if you analyze and see the chance for bitcoin price increase in the next hours or day, and that really happens, then you are not a gambler. But if that does not happen, then you make a mistake in the analysis and you need to learn more about analyzing the bitcoin price moves.

But if you just buy bitcoin at every lower price and hold it for a long time and do not care about the price fluctuation, you are an investor who wants to buy bitcoin and use it for the investment thing.

The price of bitcoin has fallen again, the opportunity to buy bitcoin, don't panic quickly, with the price falling, there is a possibility that the price of bitcoin will go up again so I say this is an opportunity to buy bitcoin.
Yeah, I think that you have implied it in your post two times that we should buy bitcoin since the low price is an opportunity that doesn't come that much. I think gambling and investing has some similarities with both having an inherent risk in them but investment doesn't make you lose that much if the investment is already established and crashing is nearly impossible. I am both a gambler and investor in a sense because I risk my money hoping that it will go up.

I'm an investor rather than a gambler. Because I don't invest all of my money into cryptocurrencies. If I did that, it would be gambling of course. But I make my moves smartly and take the profit when I reach my targets.

Before decide to buy or not, we have too see closely the history of crypto market to predict this market still on bullish or bullish ended. In my opinion, from the history of previous bull market, too early if we say the bull market is ended. After 3 years waiting for this moment, will be too short time to enjoy it. Bull market will extend can be for ayear more, so buy this cheap coin now and patient wait for bounce back.

I don't think "gambler" is the right term to use if you'll buy the dip right now. Being an investor means you're putting your money on something else, like cryptocurrency for example that'll give you profits in the long run. But yeah, buying right now is a good thing because for sure Bitcoin price will pump again and those who bought in the dip will celebrate their decisions.

Buying Bitcoin is always a good option as a cryptocurrency starter, because you can just hold it while you're studying about it and make profits at the same time.

Exactly, buy the dip always work because once the market is back up then the chance of buying low is already gone, history has already shown that those who bought the dip always end up smiling, take the 2018 bear market as an example, those who bought btc at 4k and hold till 20k and above already got rewarded for being brave. Long term investment should be the goal.

I'm investor, but actually maybe a gambler.  Grin Because bought bitcoin not with analysis but with something like this, event or news or any condition and don't know what will happen or maybe just guess without any analysis. I think it can be considered gambling to me.

This is not gambling because you have basis before you buy Bitcoin. Gambling is buying random coin without giving a shit on both fundamental and Technical analysis. Events and News are both a fundamental analysis which you are not aware though. All good if you are buying Bitcoin for now. Only future trading is the gambling when you are buying Bitcoin.

i'd like to see it as gambling since i gamble my investment while not exactly knowing where the market goes in the next few months which i plan to cash out. if things turn out to be different i'd get out before losing it all. what goes on in crypto market today is very uncertain but i'd gamble in holding it a bit longer.

This is a very debatable topic and I respect your opinion. But imagine this, You are establishing a business and you are investing money on it without any guarantee that your business will have profit or not, Is that a gamble or not? The answer on this topic is a case to case basis though.  Cheesy

Big decline = opportunity for us to buy more Smiley.
I can consider myself as an investor over a gambler. Investing in some assets without any future plans or strategies is considered a gambler for me.

Right now, Bitcoin declined a bit again at below $40,000. Still a good opportunity to buy. I'm pretty sure that we are considered an investors here but if you are just throwing money away and hoping that it will go up then you can consider yourself as a gambler. As for me, I'm an investor since I'm currently holding all of my crypto coins but at the same time buying when there is an opportunity like this. There is no better opportunity than this and if it will go down, as long as you have spare money then just continue on accumulating more.

We are both because we are dealing with risks in the market and we are playing with market and at the same time doing our best to become safe from losses.

Hoping that we can somehow surpass this crash and make bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies profitable again.

But some are just hodling and wait for the best time for crypto to buy and sell again.

I don't think we are a gambler, we are an investor. However, I don't think so much about this, the main thing is thinking about the target and plan for our crypto coins after we buy them. Now, I am holding some crypto coins after bought them yesterday, it is time to set the plan to sell them. I don't want to make this like gambling, so make a realistic plan to sell.  Wink

gambling or investing are very different things. But they both converge at one point, and that is the desire to earn money. and if they have a greedy desire to make money, they both get into gambling. Investing is a business of intelligence, you have to see the future, but gambling is an instant money making business. who plays well wins. Currently, shitcoins such as MEME coins create a gambling sensation by making instant money. but we are here as investors. We trust cryptocurrencies, we trust their technologies and projects, we invest accordingly. There are all kinds of people in this market.

I am not sure about being a gambler or trader or investor here because every criteria my be different.
However,  here,  at first,  never catc the falling knife.
I personally didn't directly buy more BTC when the price suddenly drop so dip and drastically.  I would better watch and see while analysing the chart and its drops whether in what rate it wil stop touching.  And when it has been quite clear about tuching specific resistant or rate and see the waves,  I will decide whether I will buy or not.
Never panic buy and panic sell

Congratulations.

I'm here since 2016 and have sold a bit since I started here as a trader, but I still have some coins that I bought in that year which makes me more of a hodler than a trader.

The price is low, if I had some money I'd buy. You can see that weak hands are selling. Old hodlers were selling on the way up to 60 thousand. They aren't doing it now.
This is the time when smart people accumulate and get ready for another bull run.

When the crypto money market starts to decline, when the bear season comes, if people withdraw from the market, they are gamblers. The person who withdraws from the market when there is a fall is the person who tries to get rich only when there is a rise. The main investor, on the other hand, sees the declines as an opportunity and strengthens their investments by taking advantage of purchasing opportunities.

Yeah, it's an opportunity to buy and hold. Whales and investors are waiting this opportunity but it caused panic for those newbies who doesn't have knowledge in investing. It's only once like this that the value of bitcoin goes down and goes back to the top again. Don't miss this opportunity to buy or you may regret it when you see the value of bitcoin go up again and reach another ATH.

If Bitcoin price revisit that price area, I'm sure that it will not stay long on that level because it's on critical level. It will go deeper than that and we will see the long bloodbath on crypto. But I'm sure going that level will be difficult since manipulation is strong while Institutional investors accumulate above that price. Its either it will go more deeper or reach new ATH.

Though bitcoin price is now so much volatile but Bitcoin is one of the best potential Crypto currency in the world. Price increasing and dumping is the character of all Crypto. This will happen all the time. I think this the good time to buy some bitcoin because now price is low. If you buy now some bitcoin then you will get profit. You can buy bitcoin without any hesitation.

Though predict in Crypto currency is so much tough and no one can 100% surely predict on Crypto currency but here I'm surely tell you that this will never happen. Except in this bull run this will never happen that bitcoin Price will get down at $20 - $25k. Bitcoin price was hit $30k yesterday but today its price is around $39k. So don't wait for that and buy some bitcoin now.

Considering the volatility of the Bitcoin’s Market? I should say that it is somehow considered gambling already. As you don’t invest with things that have security and sustainable movement.

Correction teaches a lesson that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are no joke. The pool has been influenced by statements and I find it disappointing honestly.

But yes, I think this is the best time to go in. Just make sure that you’re ready and you learned the lesson that the risk is high here. That’s enough to go.

When it comes to purchasing or buying coins then its up to someones decision or risk management if we would buy or wait a little bit more since no one can really predict on on what would be the possible bottom

but basing up with technicals and for those who do have able to purchase when it hit that support of 44k or lower then they are  the ones who had been making out some profit in a short span of time
since bitcoin price did eventually bounce back or able to recover but somehow on a very slow pace but it is much better rather than seeing the market crashes out hard.

I decided for myself that if I want to sleep peacefully and not waste my nerves constantly looking at the rate of a particular cryptocurrency, I just bought it and wait for the price level that I had planned for myself. When the moment comes I will just sell and then I will think about where to invest next. When I bought bitcoin, it was much less than it is now. When I sell it, it doesn't matter, I aim at a profit several times higher than my investment, so I am patient and calm.

Buying it now does not make you an investor,,, buying it at any time does. I think the only real investor are those who just do dollar cost average buying or those who make a new investment at a fixed time (whether calendar or profit/revenue portion based).

Anyone who trades cannot really be an investor:)

There's no infinite growth so the correction was expected but not this soon.  This is where people who have fears to miss outbreak their hearts and that’s why you should always think about how your emotions go and control it.  Avoid being impulsive and quickly make decisions without any backups (or that's they called FUD).

I'm a LONG-TERM investor, and I know that things go wrong along the way, having backups and knowing the risk is vital to having great investments.
For now, the decision I have that I find wise is to get Bitcoin with the altcoins I collected with the services I provided previously so just in case, the next correction won’t hurt me.

I think the people who lost here must learn that cryptocurrency investment is no joke and not a source of easy money.  Risk is big enough that would make someone suicide with their loss.

Why it should be an option? if both of it can be done at the same time. I'm an investor and at the same time, I also gamble with the use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. There's the tweet of Peter Schiff that again attacks us and telling that we're not investors but we're all gamblers because of the recent correction. Don't listen to him, he's a full time anti-bitcoin and sceptic and that's why it will just discourage people who's new to bitcoin if they're going to read his tweets.

Of course, in life you always have to make a choice, but this formulation of the question, whether to be an investor or a player, rather amuses me. It is very difficult to count on a good profit if you do not use different strategies in your system. In the crypto market, it is better to be both, - I think it will be more effective.

If you are an investor then I think this is the right time for you to buy. Bitcoin price is plummeting. If you want to do big business, you have to invest boldly to get big profits. So far, Bitcoin has continuously dropped in price, then increased rapidly. Bitcoin hoarders get rich again.

Does it have to be either/or?  What if I'm an "enthusiast" or an "advocate"?  What if I care about the culture and the values of Bitcoin as much as, or possibly more than, the price?  Perhaps that means I'm just an investor who happens to be invested on an ethical level as well as a financial one.  Or am I more than merely an investor?

It's easy for topics like this to get a little superficial.  But there's already more than enough shallowness in social and mainstream media.  Let's not lose sight of some of the more important (IMO) aspects of all this stuff.

Bitcoin has plummeted since Elon Musk announced he would stop accepting Bitcoin for payments with Tesla electric cars. Such a sharp price drop is a bad signal but also an opportunity for Bitcoin bottom-fishing traders. I think the $61k to $30k mark is a big drop in the last few days and we should be aggressively buying. I bought 50% of my USDT reserve last night and now I am getting a good return. I have only traded Spot and stayed away from instruments like Margin or Future because I am aware of their risks.

Yes, it is a window to re-enter the market after selling at its peak.  This is like buying at a huge discount.  I bet after all this FUD and China restriction had passed, Bitcoin will start to recover and probably surge at greater strength.  If that happen, then a new ATH isn't far from happening.

Yep. It was a great opportunity to buy more. Wished that it stick a little longer around 30k but meh it was bouncing around 35k+.
From that bounce and random surge, it surely felt like whales eating up the panickers' coin or it could be them just inducing fear to some holders to sell their coins so that they can take theirs.

Bitcoin is at dip so definitely it's a very big opportunity to buy right now, no way who's buying now is actually "gambling" lol, because in the end, if you are going to hold on to your coins till you see a profit (which you will, trust me, there has never been a full eternal plummet), then you have successfully made good profit out of a simple trade. It can be considered gambling in sense, if you are putting highly urgent money into it which you can't afford to lose for a limited time, then I would recommend you not to do it because there's no guarantee at all on which side the ball will swing.

Bears control the market. They don't. After the bloodbath, the dip and several weeks, Bitcoin average indicators will move up and Bitcoin will resume its bull trend. Average indicators need time to calibrate and be back on the trend.

Bitcoin has dropped from $60k to $30k in a few days and it is truly a black swan in the crypto market. It is similar to the Bitcoin price drop from 8k6$ to 4k3$ in March 2020. The opportunity is clear, we just need to buy, the indicators show that the 30k zone is the last best support zone. eventually for Bitcoin to rise again and it is now $40k for Bitcoin.

I am also buying my Bitcoin since last night. The recovery was quite impressive and it was profitable.

Who stops you from buying? Do you want others to buy too so you can conform to the norm? See, gambler and investor is different and similar at the same time, the perspective is what matters, you see if you put all your life savings in your investment then you are a gambler and at the same time investor, you are tempting fate because you are putting an all in. But if you are on the safe side, I would probably classify it as an investor.

We have touch $40k today, a good indication that investors and traders are buying. We have like decline more than 50% in the last 7 days or so, but we should be glad to see the price growing again. If everything has settle down, then we should be seeing another leg up.

As for buying in the ~$30k, of course, bitcoin is in a discount so why not take advantage of it, continue to accumulate and then HODL, nothing beats buying in a dip.
