I like the idea of being able to send funds to an address, using the lock time facility.
Ive read that this function is no longer available and the reason being that they don't want the Bitcoin network being clogged up with dust that are not going to transact for maybe years.
The Idea of timed transactiosn has advantages though, for example as a Pension, where I can take 10BTC now and send them to an address at monthly intervals timed to complete over a period of ten years.
This could be done on a Percentage basis, hopefully you get 10% per year of your BTCs, leaving only 90% for the future, but by then, that 90% might well be worth more than your 100% was.
All of this is moot now because as I understand it, the lock_time facility is no longer available or not recommended.

But there might be another way in the form of another Network.
OK, the developers don't want the network clogged up with millions of transactions that are not going to complete for years.
So how about another Bitcoin Network, where those transactions can 'mature' and only rejoin the main Bitcoin network once their lock_time period has expired and they can then complete the transaction.
Or, maybe an other Cryptocoin could be created with the Lock_time facility still working, So if you want to use the Lock time facility on a coin(s) it operates on a Fork of the Btcoin Network until it has matured.
I think the ability to make timed transactions like this has many uses, I might for example want to give my Children 1 bitcoin each, but I don;t want them spending it for 5 yrs, (OK Bitcoin might not exist then) or I might want to give them 10% of 1 Bitcoin each year.
So using Bitcoin as a regular Salary or Pension.
There could be the possibility to create a New coin out of this or operate the lock_time facility on a new Bitcoin Network until it's lock_time period has expired then allowing it back onto the main network to complete the transaction.
I think timed and delayed transactions could be very useful and attractive,

How easy would this be to do.
