All the methods above + consult the whitepaper, review the team, parteners, does it solve a small/big/any problem? etc..

I agree with these additions because the evaluation of the team and partners makes it validate the project

There are many new altcoins hitting the market. I would like to give you my words of wisdom regarding choosing an altcoin to support, invest, or work with. Feel free to discuss additional methods of research and due-diligence.

Here are some of my guidelines as follows:
1. Read through the OP ANN thread
2. Read community member posts, and ask questions about the project and current developments.
3. Review the source code on github (thoroughly research it)
4. Run the wallet on a VM (prevent malicious activities)
5. Does it provide any new value today, right now? I am not talking about theories or potential theories.
6. Peer review - What do your friends around you think about this coin? Share it with them.

I believe most of these altcoins are launching with POTENTIAL VALUE in the (FUTURE). I prefer to go after altcoins that already have Technology, at the time of launch, and provide value today. These are my guidelines and rules of thumb for research of new altcoins.

Remember: Do your own home work and due-diligence.
