WELL no one has said scott has taken coin/money and not delivered gear.

Biffa and I both got gear from him,

I do not know details of biffa's purchases. from scott

but I do know my details and

1st deal I liked the s17 pro 53th  was pretty smooth.
2nd deal was meh the t17 40th had issues  we came to an agreement that is good enough for me to agree to.

These are small deals and paypal backed.

Scott has multiple deals listed for more then 100k.

I repeat  100k deals need a lot of vetting. my two deals would not be enough vetting for me to say get 100k in gear with a btc payment.

So if you are a bigger player and want to  got to telegram and do a 100k plus deal it is on you good luck.

My point is not about scott so I am going to lock the thread as I am interested in 1 post 2 post people in this thread.

Is the only thing you are requesting is for threads not to be locked?

Do you think it would be fair to allow legit users that have merit and that are not newbie accounts to keep their threads locked?

Perhaps only one star newbies need to have this restriction. But why me? Why force me, a valid, reputable seller, to change the way I do business?

I do not intend to conduct business in bitcointalk PM’s or thread replies. It is very inefficient for me.

If I unlock my thread, you will immediately see scammers trying to post replies and try to hijack my thread. I don’t want stupid replies clogging up my extremely well organized thread.

If you are asking me to stop directing people to do business with me outside of bitcointalk, I’m afraid I can not comply. If you are simply asking me to unlock my thread, then I would want to reserve the right to delete any replies that I don’t think are beneficial.

My thread is high quality and has a lot of views and is updated daily. I’m very concerned that unlocking my thread will cause the quality of my thread to deteriorate quickly and get hijacked by sellers who just want to get attention for their own deals by posting replies on my successful thread that I’ve spent dozens of hours cultivating, which will then distract my potential buyers from buying from me.
Offer escrow
and stop asking people to do telegram and that would be fine to lock post
you can add your telegram on your profile as well as your email
initial contact should not be lured off bitcointalk but rather requested by your clients.
and again OFFER ESCROW  OgNasty ,DarkStar_ and many others offer it but you dont want to.
MOQ's 100+? Maybe ....with escrow!
making sure you delivered one unit to the mining guru does not impress me if after that you demand MOQ's and no escrow options ask me to go to telegram AND lock the thread.

I am against a 1 post wonder with a locked thread.

Saying send me an email to "yousucker.com"

Or a telegram to  "Iwilltakeyourmoneyfool"

However:
An established seller needs some protection.  I self mod when I sell I don't lock my thread much.

Scott's done multiple deals.

I think he is okay now my deals with him were 2250 and 1880

if you are doing 50k 100k 200k buyers should do a lot of vetting.

As I said more then one person has asked about larger deals from brokers.
I always say be careful.

Yea this is so true, I remember being dumbfounded that idiots were hijacking others threads with the dumbest advertisements... As long as you have some sort of trust though I don't think that self-moderating threads is bad. I think OP is referring more to Newbies who post in big read font and don't even know the right section to post in. Honestly I don't really pay attention to self-moderated threads, because even legit people have it to protect from idiots spamming shit on your thread... There is no reason newbies should be able to self-moderate though, there is no reason. They are the ones who need to be moderated by the community, not the other way around.

Yea, thank you for doing this. I guess a lot of people are falling for these tricks because there are so many others still trying this scam. Something needs to be done eventually, it's a never ending onslaught. I wouldn't have any guilt tagging these people, most of them are 100% aware of what they are doing.

Don’t lock the thread and give a link to an outside place to do sale.

I will tag thread.

Reason is simple scamming is too easy to do if you do this way of sales.

If I tagged you for newbie locked thread and offsite link I will remove the negative tag if you unlock the thread.
