hello,

we are working on a project for awhile and now we have an alpha, our project is decentralizing market with 650B$ market size,

now we are facing a hard decision

1- start ICO and sell Coins for fast development and secure partnerships. but we afraid our investors may lose money if we didn't succeed in the market

2- bootstrapping like what we are doing now. and made a community coin and take a percentage then sell it on exchange when we need money.

what do you think?

thank in advance
Investors wont lose up money if you do just sell tokens which are really tend for the further development on such project. Investors nowadays are smart enough to detect if theres a big allocation into the dev team itself which on this thing only you wont really get any support because investors do see that this coin can be easily dump. Just do the basic on what most project do now, putting up small allocation or percentage on overall token supply for the development then just let it be, if your project is somehow unique you would really get the support no matter what.

We are facing a similar situation with our project right now. Wish we knew the right answer too.

Bookmarking this thread, because we'd love to know what you eventually decide and why. Stronger together, right?

Successfull ICO would provide you with possibility of working full time on the project and hire a team. This would increase chances that your investors actually don't lose money.

From the other side, ICO requires some quite expensive marketing. An ideal solution would be to get some pre seed and leverage it for marketing your ICO, probably.
