To login I had to go thru over 50 captcha is this normal if you have a clean ip (not blacklisted)?
Is this normal if your using tor browser?
I felt like giving up, even though the captcha was working properly except for sometimes it would say incorrect even though I hadn't clicked any image yet.
Is there a way to login with just minimum captcha like 10  or so, 50 and more is exhausting as my eyes are focused on the screen and if you pause it will make you start again maybe?
I believe you must have gotten your answer correctly now by what others had furnished you already as captcha bypass will solve this permanently for you.

But for the sake of others to avoid the issues. I have said a thing like this before, the forum might allow privacy, Tor and VPNs, but enhanced security checks are being triggered due to them. So, if you use the normal IP on normal gadgets, you will hardly see it, and if you see it at all, it will be minimal and easy to pass. But when using Tor and VPN, you will see the captcha often, especially when you use the Tor browser.

I understand how frustrating going through multiple captchas can be. As for you question, it actually depends on the kind of browser you are making use of. It could also be as a result of your VPN.

It is quite normal for people who use privacy protection browsers like Tor to experience such things. If not you can switch to using other browsers like Firefox or chrome.
You can also make use of the captcha bypass button on the login page.though you need to be careful when using that as it can be used by hackers to brute force your login.

I haven't noticed such before that's up to 50 captcha, if is not network then it might be something new. If something of such happens to me when trying to login I just remove the tab and open a new one, restart my network and start all over, it always works when I do that, but trying it for 50 times is not normal to me OP.

It's your network.. please try using a supper strong network, I have kept myself before then struggling with login in but when I changed network I noticed it was danm fucking easy to access the forum. Please work on your network forum is lite to access.
Sometimes it's because of TOR. Because whenever I am using TOR or any other VPN apps to access the forum, I get this CAPTCHA prompt message. And it's the most annoying thing ever. Moreover, the CAPTCHA won't accept the submission the first time. I have to try multiple time in order to go to the login page/login. Apart from this, when using the forum with just only browser nothing happens. I also think that it's a network related issue. Slow connection makes the browser go crazy.

OP, try the method others suggested above.

I think yesterday I also experienced the login issues by passing several verification processes yet it wasn't login although I wasn't using any TOR or VPN what I discovered was that the area I find myself was only 3G enabled, there was no 4G connection and I pass through hard time to been able to get access back to the forum.

They funniest thing is that I was receiving messages from my telegram bots but was like what is going on lastly it was said that trying to see the strength of my network I should click on the box to proceed connection which I did but still didn't work after I got back to the city I was able to access back the forum.

That's probably caused by a disconnect between the bitcointalk server and your connection. I have experienced that myself when I was still a jit doing all these stuff on a computer shop in the past, and with shared connections there are instances where sites won't load up as fast, which causes the same issues that you've mentioned. If you're using a private connection something like a home or office internet connection perhaps try power cycling your router and it should do the trick if the connection is reset and you get your supposed to be MBPS back. If in any case it doesn't, perhaps check if other browsers experience the same issues, try using Opera GX, Mozilla Firefox, or Brave Browser and see if you're still experiencing the same 50 captcha problems.

Lastly, if you're still experiencing the issue, try flushing your DNS and your connection. If you're on Windows 10, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the desktop. (From Home, tap or click the Desktop tile).
  • Right-click the Start button (the Windows logo in the lower-left).
  • Choose Command Prompt and run as administrator.
When asked whether to allow Command Prompt to make changes to your computer, select Yes.
  • Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter.
  • Type "ipconfig /registerdns" and press Enter.
  • Type "ipconfig /release" and press Enter.
  • Type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter.
  • Type "netsh winsock reset" and press Enter.
  • Restart the computer.

Or you can just use a captcha bypasser. LOL

it's not normal... AFAIK, it's not even about your IP and stuff... It could possibly be a glitch for everytime it tries to display the images on the captcha.. it happened to be and I know how fraustrating it can be.
It's mostly the restrictions which come with Tor browser such as fingerprinting protection, no permanent cookies, and the shared IP addresses of the exit nodes.

I hope you get over your challenges...it ain't over yet.
I'm standing strong. Thanks for the interest.  Smiley

When using Tails, there are a lot of stuff that can go wrong, and your machine might stop booting into it. That's regardless of the quality of the USB stick, it is simply common in Tails. So, never store anything important in the persistent storage, or back it up. Be sure that you'll have re-burn the image multiple times in the stick.

I don't know how much of it's reliable or efficient.
Tails runs on memory. You can save a few files on your persistent storage, but everything else will be wiped up every time your machine shuts down. If disk usage is an important part of your job, then use another OS. But, generally, it is very convenient and portable.
I do believe tailsOS is a pretty good OS itself. Because I have used it before and I do know about the persistent storage feature. What I'm worried about is getting a good piece of hardware (USB flash drive). Because where I live is filled with fake made in China stuff which doesn't even run properly for 1 months. I do have a 32GB pendrive but its read/write speed is very slow. But I don't think I should worry in the first place, it's not that I'm gonna store my keys on tails. Never. I might just use it when I'm outside, like in a public place.

I like the phrase privacy comes with a cost . It is that price that I am not willing to pay, but anyone who is overly private will pay the price. With the stress one goes in real life and other challenges of life, I do not think that I have the patience to try pass captcha more than 5 times
It depends on which sites you visit. Is it just bitcointalk? You don't need to submit a captcha more than once. Is it a couple of news sites? Maybe you encounter one or two everyday. Is it social media? Probably tons, if it even allows you to pass with Tor.

I don't know how much of it's reliable or efficient.

I have used tailsOS before but I don't think it is something which can be used for day to day. Another thing worth mentioning, because  tailsOS runs on USB flash drive, I don't know how much of it's reliable or efficient. I'm unsure of the capabilities of a mere USB. And because tailsOS gives us temporary privacy solution, it cannot be used as a regular operating system. I would only use tailsOS when I'm outside or on others place or on public places, cafe etc.
If your main concern is privacy then TailsOS can be used for day to day tasks without any worries but if you're someone who doesn't care a lot about privacy then using of TailsOS will be very hard for you. I agree with you that USB flash drives can be unreliable sometimes but if you purchase one from a good brand then you won't face any issues with it.

TailsOS is not for day to day users it's basically for privacy concerned users but it can be used by day to day users without any issues. I believe a better alternative for day to day users should be Qubes OS, but that operating system is a little bit hard for new users however the security it provides is of top quality. You can install Qubes OS on a regular hard drive or SSD.

Many of the privacy lovers use the operating systems that leave no traces. Tails OS is an example of such operating systems that a group of privacy lovers prefer and they also use multiple VPN's and change their mac addresses each time when they connect to internet.

Thanks for liking the phrase and yes someone who doesn't cares much about the privacy would never have the patience to solve multiple captcha codes to view a page but the privacy lovers don't really care much about such things because their main concern is the privacy and for that they can solve 100's of captcha codes per day without any hesitation.

The privacy lovers just don't want anyone to know about themselves and sometimes they also disable JavaScript because that can somehow ruin their privacy.

This is normal when using tor, you can use the captcha bypass and bookmark it as suggested but be careful if someone get access to the direct link it can be use to brute force your forum password according to what I read.
You care to enlighten us more on this as I don't see how that can be possible because a certain link was bookmarked or left on homepage and then someone's account can be exposed to hack? Again, this is reason enough for members to stake their Bitcoin address here for easy account recovery in case of hack.

What if you stay online all the time?
I don't think that's a bad idea but I believe there are veteran members here who will advise against that, I guess, and they will give safety measure for a reason not to try it.

And you are lucky, however. Smiley I have a maximum of 5 captchas (often less), so I think what happened to you is clearly a deviation from the norm.

Is this normal if your using tor browser?
I can't say because I haven't used this browser on bitcointalk.

I felt like giving up, even though the captcha was working properly except for sometimes it would say incorrect even though I hadn't clicked any image yet.
Maybe you should clear your browser's cache? Or try on another OS or reinstall yours.

Is there a way to login with just minimum captcha like 10  or so, 50 and more is exhausting as my eyes are focused on the screen and if you pause it will make you start again maybe?

Even without reading this anywhere, I had thought about it that it could be risky if someone has access to the direct link. But I could not understand if truly it is such risky, because the captcha is not protecting the user rather the forum.

But if you are in TOR browser then not 50 but even more than a 100 is very normal.
Tor users will have to face those issues because privacy comes with a cost and the ones who value privacy doesn't care much about the costs. I rarely use Tor but I must say it's a worthy browser for the ones who love privacy.

Use paid VPN and connect to server on unpopular country. After that, get URL which can bypass captcha.
While paid VPN is recommended but for just using the forum it's not that bad to use a free VPN, find a way to login which is easier than TOR. Get the captcha bypass url, save it. For rest of the time he can use the bypass URL and use TOR for browsing the forum.

I get your point. But paid VPN usually means IP address you use was used by less people (leads to less annoying captcha) and less risky in terms of security and privacy.

I agree with you bro in our house we have two connections when one cannot verify the captcha the other one always can, a quick change of the connection can solve the issue, you have two options, the forum's bypass captcha feature or having two internet connections, just be sure both connections are good.

It's normal to have such experience with captcha

But apart from bypassing the Captcha there is a button that says stay logged in. You can click on it while logging in and stay logged in if your using a personal device there is no need to log out regularly you can just use it and refresh the page any time you will be active again.

I think it is categorised by either your incomplete identification of the captcha object or it is the network that you use or that you have a security challenge and captcha is trying to ensure that it is actually the real owner, or maybe testing your patience levels and frankly, it is someitmes very annoying as I have been there before but asides that it seems normal but not too often.

This doesn't happen by default though, wrong entries might have triggered it.

No. Even if you use Firefox without login to google account on it, you usually only face few more captcha.

Is this normal if your using tor browser?

Yes, Google reCAPTCHA is known to be hostile against Tor users. Even worse, after you done solve all captcha sometimes, google might refuse to let you pass with this message "We're sorry, but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.".

Yeah, that's because the Tor has list of IP addresses and ports it generate. That's something we call tor circuits and they change automatically. If you are in a clean IP then requiring 50 captcha is not normal. You many require one or two [if you were wrong in the first captcha]. But if you are in TOR browser then not 50 but even more than a 100 is very normal. You will find you are still clicking on those images after an hour 😂

You can now bypass the login CAPTCHA by bookmarking the link generated for you here: https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php

If it causes problems, I might restrict it to Jr Members and above or something, but currently anyone can do it.
