OP, you make it sound dirty that someone wants to make money with Bitcoin. You do realize that this is a finance/cryptography forum, right? If business people don't make money Bitcoin dies. Making money is the reason so many people mine and profit is the reason they do it. Troll harder.

You lead and I'll watch you walk away.
This is the original thread announcing TBF not the ones you posted: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=113400.820
Their are many arguments for and against it and yes I'm in the thread giving Charlie a bunch of crap about the elitist organization. He and others were able to change my mind about it and now I'm a supporter.

You mean the US Bitcoin Foundation?

I'm pretty sure with the expansion of bitcoin we will see organizations popping up all around the globe.

In my eyes the foundation is just a small groups attempt to embed themselves in a position to align with the government when that time comes. I see nothing of value coming from the foundation and there is absolutely no reason for such an organization to exist.

Bitcoin has no need for what they are providing. In time, they will say "Hey it could have been worse, but we prevented how bad it could have really been." With respect to Bitcoin facing off against the government. When in fact it will be just the opposite.

TLDR: It's just a meal ticket for politicians

A friendly advice - read more about the Bitcoin Foundation before joining it. There were a lot of discussions after its launch, if it's good or bad. Time has passed and all threads with criticism were buried under new ones. In my opinion this foundation is a way to earn money to top bitcoin holders, nothing else. But use your own brain to make a decision.

Some fact:

Not all bitcoiners support the Bitcoin Foundation - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=113509.10
In the very 1st days its founders violated their own by-laws - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/request-for-transparency-tbf-114911
The foundation is ran by a small group of people who know each other very closely - http://dedecentralizationofbitcoin.wordpress.com/2012/10/05/de-decentralization-of-bitcoin/
