I am mainly looking at whole leaf and strip tax rates. Here in the usa if you get more then 10 pounds of strip its wholesale and taxed like veggies.

• cigarettes: an amount equal to 16.5 per cent of the retail price plus £167.41 per one thousand cigarettes;
• cigars: £208.83 per kilogram;
• hand-rolling tobacco: £164.11 per kilogram; and
• other smoking tobacco and chewing tobacco: £91.81 per kilogram.
Seems like strip,leaf and "tube cut" tobacco that is a little thicker then regular shags might fall under the 91.81 tax instead of the 164.11.
That would be about 180 a kilo to import cut tobacco for rolling. Is that cheap? seems super high to me as tobacco is cheap here I guess or my math is funky.

Here in the USA we have a few different categories of tobacco products with different tax rates. Is the UK like that? Here the stuff that is manufactured less like strip and whole leaf have little to no taxes but stuff in a paper tube rolled is almost all taxes compared to total product cost.
If there is less taxes on tobacco leaf like the other guy is selling on the marketplace that is what I am looking for. I have access to decent quality shredders and rolling machines plus large amounts of baled tobacco leaf but am trying to see what is worth putting out there for people.
In the USA shredding then rolling your own can cut the price down to 10% of the manufactured cigarette cost if done right and the UK prices are insane from what I have seen.

Reading and reading tax code but can't seem to find what the taxes might be. Rolled cigarettes seem really high but the loose product taxes i can not find.
