Topic: Token value not showing in MyEtherWallet / Ethplorer (Read 262 times)

I have some tokens which i gained from joining airdrops and bounties. Some of them have their value showing in Ethplorer.io and some dont.

Is there anything i can do to see a token's value (like for instance Brickblock (BBK), which is on coinmarketcap)? Or is there anything the token issuer could do to arrange this? Or is there nothing we can do and we just have to wait?

Basically the ones with displayed values are the coins which are listed in coinmarketcap.com (I hope you are familiar about this site). Otherwise, those tokens showing no values do exist but not listed on CMC perhaps in the process of listing.

Took some time, but i can see it in ethplorer.io since this week. I think they did an update because i can see the value of some more tokens since this week.

It's probably because the token is not listed in a good exchange or the token has not been listed in an exchange or it is a useless token.

Try to use Etherscan (not Ethplorer.io). If your coins are listed on coinmarketcap then you will see their values through Etherscan.
This is because Etherscan accepts only price info from CMC (Coinmarketcap).

Stalker.network - POS Smart Contract ETH Token
Ethplorer and etherscan have different exchanges for which they value their tokens.

It's likely ethplorer does not have the exchange which the token is listed.
Another option is to use blockfolio.

If they'd update the "value" of every token ever created, they'd need a dedicated staff just for this purpose. It's also not that easy. You need to figure out for each coin what value you attribute to it. Which exchanges are they traded on, how are these exchanges weighted? What happens if the price difference between exchanges is too high? What if the price surges (or plummets) on one exchange and so on. There is a reason why not all coins are listed on coinmarketcap, worldcoinindex or equivalent sites.

Many tokens worth nothing if you find a trading site of it also they exist many tokens who can't sell them in any exchange sites because they don't listed in any exchange sites

May be they are still not enter the cryptocurrency market.Once they have enter market via exchanges token values will appear.
They are trading on different exchanges. Without a minimum trading volume tokens will not even show up on coinmarketcap, for this example bbk is on coinmarketcap already, so what you are stating is not a valid argument in this case.

Update: etherscan.io is showing the value now. Ethplorer.io still isnt.

Think the only thibg is to wait it out.

Have you tried Etherscan.io? https://etherscan.io/token/0x59d8c5a3e2d25a550e294d82dfb2a3128d324bbc It seems like the token exists there so it make sense to have its value shown.
No value there in my wallet for BBK.

Perhaps you need to manually add the tokens info in MEW, like Token Symbol, Contract and Decimal to actually see it reflected in your wallet. (https://kb.myetherwallet.com/send/adding-new-token-and-sending-custom-tokens.html)

Brickblock announcement on the contract migration, https://blog.brickblock.io/post-mortem-multiple-bbk-payout-incident-fa4353b3b69d. The new token can be found here.

Look at that announcement as well.

Thanks for your response, I have done this as well.

I can see the token quantity in my etherwallet and on ethplorer.io. But it only does not show the value of this token.

Maybe they simply aren't worth anything? Most of those bounties are paying in worthless tokens (because their ICO is a grab money scheme). Etherscan only lists the price of popular tokens which are available in some popular (or at least "okayish") exchanges or at CoinMarketCap.
