The Big Mac Index is a price index measuring the purchase power parity between two currencies based on different prices of the McDonalds' Bic Mac in different countrys.
Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Mac_IndexBy comparing the prices of a Bic Mac in different countrys it becomes visibile, that the global price of a Big Mac vary between 2.82 and 7.73 USD.
If we could beam Big Mac's from one place to another, it would be easy to profit on the difference of the global Big Mac prices. But you cannot ship fast enough the good and would get higher overall prices through taxes.
My questions are:
Do you think it is possible to tokenize the global price of the Big Mäc? How would you do that from a technical perspective? How would you do that from a perspective of a tax avoider? With an NFT, a physical coupon or with another blockchain asset/solution?
When f.E. a global Bic Mac NFT would be realized, what is the wanted outcome? Yes, the people from the wealthy countrys would eat cheaper. But would the people from the less wealthy countrys eat more expensive through this NFT? Is it possible to avoid this by minting or transaction taxes, by staking or other financial instruments?
And how would McDonalds react to a Big Mac NFT or just one worldwide Big Mac price? I think because of trademark reasons it is not possible to name it Big Mac NFT. But would MacDonalds try to act against a project like this?
And yes, also it is possible to have global prices for other goods.
Are there developers, companys or blockchain projects out there who whants to create a solution for the different prices of goods in different prices?
