Hello, recently one of the most famous traders Tone Vays said that next bull run will cause altcoins crash because people will start with the massive sale of altcoins and they will put everything in Bitcoin.
Do you agree with him? Really only Bitcoin survives?
It is a highly possible scenario that people selling off their altcoins to enter into bitcoin if there is a crazy rally like we saw in the past, we have seen situations like that in the past but within a time frame the alt coin market usually follows the market in a positive direction, only time will show what the future holds for alt coins when we see another huge rally, one thing is certain, the projects and coins that have no fundamentals will die out in the long run.

I guess he doesn't look at charts. If he did, he'd see that that's the exact opposite of what has happened in every bull run. Historically altcoins increase in overall marketcap when there's a bull run, which obviously means bitcoin shrinks. I think it shrank to under 40% in the last bull run, so 25% wouldn't be out of the question in the next bull run if the long term trend stays as it always has. Maybe he got confused and meant in the next bear market as the market consolidates to bitcoin because noobs realize they have no clue what they're doing and buy what they think is "safe".

What will be interesting is if bitcoin drops below 25% of total marketcap and a new leader is crowned, do noobs still think bitcoin is the safe choice when the next bear market rolls around...

Are you kidding right  Grin Huh 90% of people here know Tone Vays and his channel.
Also he said that he is a famous trader, and you are talking about that he doesn´t look at charts? Did you even reading before writing?

Apparently the sarcasm went over your head. The point is that he should know from looking at the charts that his opinion isn't historically backed and is a maximalist fantasy.

Tony Vays is very bias with his assessment of Altcoins, definitely we have many shit coins in the space and a lot  of people has been extremely hurt, but people have short memories and will invest in anything that ill likely fetch them money. Altcoins have come to stay in IMO and will rise more and more

When Bitcoin enters its bullish stage, there will be many massive sales of altcoins, which will cause the fall of the altcoins, but at the time of correction of bitcoin is the ideal time to start buying altcoins, they are cheaper and the strategy would be hold. , because those who have bitcoins will begin to protect their gains in the altcoins, and these will begin to increase little by little.

All these movements are relative, and somehow they are coordinated so that investors begin to see the benefits of their investments in altcoins, this will only happen when Bitcoin enters the bullish phase. Maybe Tony Vays did not say everything that can happen and the market view did not reveal it completely, it only revealed a small part, but in these cases, he can not have total certainty about what will happen in the market.

First of all, went the bullish was started the bitcoin will dominance the market first and the altcoin value will descrease so high. But after the bitcoin on a stable price went the bullish already started, That`s the time of party Altcoin.

No, I dont believe that.
There are still people who really believes in the new technology such as altcoin where they input new projects for the sake of saving the crypto world.

One example is Ethereum. It cannot be dumped that easily for there are still chances that it could go way up.
Anothere is BNB. Supporters wont just sell it for they believe Binance is the future exchange and will see a lot more bull than what is to happen.

I think it could be the other way around - well all fall so low that it's cheap to flip BTC and some rich dude like Roger or Vitalik goes for it.
Alts won't die when they offer utility that BTC does not.
But shitcoins need to disappear, can't really disagree with Tone Vays on this one.
But he is Bitcoin maximalist that means that he believes only in Bitcoin and all altcoins will disappear according to this idea, not some. So do you really agree with him  Huh Grin.
Once he claims he's a bitcoin maximalist, the next thing you know he's posing with Craig Wright and agreeing with him.
Vays is kinda clueless about the fundamentals of crypto, but he's good at TA.
I also believe that alts should die for BTC to get a new bull run, but I don't believe this is gonna happen.
I partly agree with one particular statement, not his whole framework.
Today, many reputable people predict the further development of the cryptocurrency market, but each has its own nuances. A very significant conclusion about the current state of the cryptocurrency market is the statement about the majority of Altcoins, which will really lose their relevance, since they do not have a real product.

As for me I'll wait for the value of my alts to recover before selling them off. Some may die eventually like it always does for years Ive been in crypto, that seems to be what's happening ever since. But new altcoins will come for there are endless ICOs, STOs and IEOs.

I think that some altcoins can actually die, but it will depend on how the project will develop. I think that in 2019 all the coins will take on value. During this proper bull run (probably in 2020) some altcoins can unfortunately lose.
Bear have some advantages of starving weak projects to death. Most of them made a big mistake of keeping most of the fund in bitcoin and ethereum, hoping to make more money with it but the market shrink right in their face. They couldnt fund the project longer while they have lot to spend on. Projects that dont have strategy to push volume in the market will eventually die, institutions are the only substitute for trust in ICO now.

I agree. We can still see how almost all the altcoins are going down. They became so much that half of the need to get rid of exactly. I believe that some altcoins will still remain, but bitcoin will occupy a leading place among crypto.

Which altcoins he was referring to? Ethereum? Ripple? It will just gonna die if everyone of us dumps our altcoins and never buys it back again. I have seen a lot of these so-called experts people and yet they never get the right guess at the future. I think what he meant was the worst case scenario but it is the other way around that most likely gonna happen in the future.
If he's not really into cryptocurrency then he might be referring into all altcoins, which is quite impossible since there are still some good project that is just waiting for crypto bull to make ATH price again of their project.

I respect Tony Vays and I follow his channels but I do not agree with him on this, all previous market run suggest the opposite, whenever bitcoin gains as little as 5 %, we can see as much as 10-20 percent among most of the top alts.Bitcoin gains much more patronage in a bear market when people fear the total collapse of the market,so they move to something relayively stable

Altcoin not totally die even new ATH will come. If bitcoin rise this alts will be follow the trend so there's no will be left. There's some alts that great value in the market and some are proven that will give us a profit even the market is bearish.

Tone vay has enjoyed his leadership as bitcoin maximalist and have also made a lot of mistakes in this space, some of his opinion had being misleading but he is still relevant personnel in the space because of his experience. In the next bull run, people will be moving more to stable coin and fiat to preserve the value of their investment than bitcoin. The market at its price peak, is not advisable to keep bitcoin.

Tone vays has always been a bitcoin maximalist and I am not surprised he made such statement about altcoins.

I personally don't think altcoins will die, though I know that a lot of the altcoins we have in the market will actually become useless because the truth is that they have nothing to offer, but a few altcoins will survive the bull run and also increase in price too and some of this coins includes ETH, EOS, TRON and BNB.
Bitcoin maximalists are naive  Grin. I also believe that Bitcoin will stay for long time here and become a mean of payment and store of value.
But we all know that blockchain can be used in many other diffrent ways.  Cheesy

We don't know, the last time we have a massive bull run, altcoins also rises to I don't think that majority will really sell their altcoins just to go to bitcoin market. Although there is this practice of shifting funds around, but I don't think that investors will just ditch their beloved altcoins.

Maybe what will happen is that those shitcoins holders will not but not the top 2-50 altcoins. That is the difference, we have shitcoins and then there's altcoins like Ethereum, XRP, Litecoin and others that will still thrive as well in a bull-run, but shitcoins? maybe dumpsters will just shit on them and move to bitcoins, lol.
Of course, the garbage will be removed from the cryptocurrency market, but we do not know which projects will be destroyed. As many analysts said, almost 60% of all altcoins do not have a real product, this says that the current state of the cryptocurrency market will destroy them and indeed we will not see them at the next running bull.

Oh yes, every year you can read again that Bitcoin die, altcoins die, cryptocurrencys die and so on. I'm used to such predictions and I don't believe in them. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencys have survived so far and it will certainly continue to do so in the future. Altcoins belong to Bitcoin and without an altcoin market, Bitcoin will have a hard time surviving. So I don't think the statement that altcoins are dying in the next bull run is right.  Smiley

If you want to be a media personality, you have to stand for something that makes you stand out.  There needs to be a talking point.  Whether he really believes it or not is a question in my mind.  Of course, other people believe it who follow him, but that is an extreme position that would require tens of billions of dollars to switch over to Bitcoin that are nowhere near it now.   All this wonderful utility and trading mechanism would have to be gone, and the people will never want that.

I don't think it's in accordance with the plan, each altcoin has its own price and has been converted to bitcoin if it's sold will reap profits too, not just bitcoin but altcoin the exact same. well team and developer have prepared the risk they are not stupid mate, by the way they product must have been dump before to reduce the volume of the market so that the profits they achieve if all investors or holders sell it
Most altcoins do not have their own fundamental price. Their price is based only on expectations. But in the future, some alts will have their price. Because some projects will generate profits. Perhaps they will not be heavily dependent on BTC and ethereum.

It all depends on who is still investing in cryptos. If it's real believers, yeah they'll sell their shitcoins to get BTC.
If it's people who believe they can make easy money with altcoins, some of those coins will survive I guess... until they're sold.
But in the long run, most altcoins will die and BTC will still be there whatever happens.

Not all altcoins are sh*t  . a real believer will always include promising alts to his portfolio , therfor i donth think alts will die instantly .  one thing that i know is that alts value is verry dependent on bitcoin  . so in other words if bitcoin experience a massive bull , theres a high chance that alts will also follow   and if ever people sell alts , the value of them drops hard but the dip is still the reason why many users will invest again on them .

Altcoins serve as the support system to the growth of bitcoin. Altcoins too have contributed good to the cryptocurrency network and there were more potential coins that have good usability similar to bitcoin. Till date whenever there is a kind of bull trend, automatically the altcoins get to be bullish following the bitcoin trend. Altcoins die when there is no usage anymore, but there are stores and other services as well products backed on specific blockchain. Maybe there won't be further growth with altcoins on next bull run, but altcoins won't die.

Do you agree with him? Really only Bitcoin survives?

it depends on your definition of "survival". for example do you consider an altcoin which was created a while ago and its initial price was about lets say 50,000 satoshi and all its life it continued downwards and is currently worth 0.01 satoshi a coin that "survived"? if yes then he is wrong.

if you define survival as something that not just has a price tag on it but also is improving, is being adopted, grows, offers utilities,... then you can see how 99% of the coins are simply considered already dead.

i don't know if you are quoting this person wrong or out of context but that statement sounds like a load of crap to me.

the altcoin market is not going to change any time soon. we will continue to see the same pump and dump crap over here for at least 2 more bitcoin's bull runs.

like before we will see an initial huge altcoin dump as bitcoin starts to have big rises since obviously people will run back to the only thing that has ever matters (which is bitcoin) and leave altcoins which causes their dump but altcoins will not die because of that just like they never died before when they got dumped.

we will see them continue being pumped like always because the altcoins (specially shittier ones) have always been a good source of profit for bitcoin investors who want to increase their bitcoin wealth!

Agree or not, I don't think about the truth of his says. He doesn't know when the bull run comes, and he only said that but that could happen in the future. I am sure that bitcoin can survive from now on and we already knew that bitcoin still survive in the past too so bitcoin will still survive. What kind of scenario is that compared to what has already happened to altcoins now? I've seen most of my alts just drop to around 70-90% of their ATH, thankfully none have completely died like others. But that's already to me "death".

BTC increases, in general so do alts, that pattern won't change so fast.

I agree that often it is bitcoin that leads any recovery, but I think it is an absurd claim that all altcoins will fail and only BTC will survive. This means that either the purposes of alts (smart contracts, fast payments, IoT, privacy etc) are irrelevant, or else that BTC can provide all solutions and do so better than all alts in every case. I really don't think that's true at all.

Honestly, I pretty much doesn't care about what others thing speculatively about Cryptocurrency in general. People like Warren Buffet nor JP Morgan even though has a famous name, It doesn't change my perspectives about cryptocurrency. Nevertheless, when it comes to technical of the underlying technology, I take consideration of it.

I'd agree that in the next bull run altcoin could die because when we look to a bigger perspective, the majority of cryptocurrencies are meant to be created for a scam, and has zero value, and real-life usage. It won't be surprising if it abandoned. However, Bitcoin won't lead with a significant dominance over the cryptocurrency markets, there is some valuable cryptocurrency that worth to be looking for because it actually has a usage.

Well it's true that we are never be scared because we love to gamble but that's for some people. But there are crypto folks that learned from the past and don't want to commit same mistake of falling into a wrong altcoin or ICO.

As most of them requires KYC too, majority doesn't want to comply with that so instead of getting with those projects it's best for them to stay with bitcoin.

That's plausible, people will learn that everyone has to go with bitcoin. This is crypto market and everything that you can expect can turn into unexpected scene so what he says is probably true when people wants bitcoin only.

There might be some altcoins that will survive but it will be very few, minimal. I think people will be scared of these altcoins and ICOs because most of them are said to be scams so instead of investing there, they'll choose bitcoin.
