read only the title, tongue scraping is something that sounds horrid.

Hmmm..... Sounds intriguing. 
If you think you have good oral hygiene and don't regularly tongue scrape - think again. You'll know exactly what I mean the first time you use one of these. The amount of shit the builds up on your tongue every day is unbelievable, and no amount of scrubbing with a toothbrush will be as effective as these things.
The plastic/bristled tongue cleaners you see at drug stores suck compared to these, stainless steel is really the way to go. Also, unlike a toothbrush, these will last for ever. In fact, I guarantee you will never need to replace this tongue cleaner unless you lose it. Seriously, you could die with this thing.
This is a simple but extremely effective tool. Honestly, once you start using them you will never stop. You will wonder how you ever talked to people, how you ever kissed people, how you ever lived before tongue scraping.
