Cointelegraph made a recent publication which is based on recent studies that states that over 70% of the ICOs from 2017 where scams.

That is 70% of hundreds of billions of dollars raised in crowd funding of different types of projects. Most of this projects have awesome whitepapers and the best team on paper but ultimately contains people who have realized a chance to make quick money and have taken it.

With this said, I believe the ICO space needs a form of vetting process to control the indiscriminate launch of projects and teh rate at which people invest in scam projects.
It is always better to purchase a good token on exchange than to rush for 50%+ bonuses and later record 0.0+ x in ROI.

 A few good advice
Always do your homework
Follow top analysis and methods
Be wary of too high bonuses
Don't take any Ls from anyone
