i agree just dont try overclocking. at stock your left with about 100w maybe a bit more so your in a safe working zone but very very limited to what else you can do. no overclocking and you cant add anything else
Ok, but on my cgminer for gpu engine - won't that overclock the card?
my settings are:
280x:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -o host:port -u x -p x -I 13 --lookup-gap 2 --g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1020 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 0 --temp-target 70 --temp-overheat 80 --temp-cutoff 87 --auto-fan --d=[pci slot/device number]
7950:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -o host:port -u x -p x -I 19 --g 1 --thread-concurrency 24000 --gpu-engine 900 --gpu-memclock 900 --gpu-powertune 20 --temp-target 70 --temp-overheat 80 --temp-cutoff 88 --gpu-fan 80 --auto-fan --d=[pci slot/device number]
Is this fine - I mean is it fine that my psu will be alright?
it depends what you gpu engines are set to by the manufacturers, if there set lower then change the gpu engine speed to match it.
