More than 3 months so here is the update for this year. I run the analysis due to the shady policies from Blockseer - a young mining pool but looks shady.

I used to be in Guild and sometimes Slush mostly when they got stuck on a block and I wanted to try my luck :p Guild had to close their doors at one point if I remember right, the owner was awesome and it was too popular. I should never have stopped even when appearing not profitable. The rise of the unknown is discussed in this article I just saw, apparently there is a new pool starting just as some operations decline with this lower reward vs price the same as Feb; its less profitable I guess. I have been thinking low oil price should mean less energy costs for miners but I dont know it is relevant or on their scale especially, maybe for cooling.

This is a clickbait! I was thinking we should see a nice list of the Hardware Miners, maybe the old ButterflyLabs was the last on the list, but you were talking about the mining pools Grin

Maybe you can change the title to that 'Top 10 Mining Pools'.

And the information displayed is good, it is fun to see how the network gets close to a centralized system with time, in the long run, if 3 pools make team they will have a huge weigh for the bitcoin desitions.

One thing that I’ve noticed is that the “unknown” miners made a come back in 2019 and 2020 .
