Many people haven't heard about bitcoin enough to really look into it, read about it, understand it, feel comfortable using it.
Say it pops into their radar 5, 10 more times - that might be a tipping point for a lot of people. This Nakamato identity stuff is not "Good newses" nor is it "bad newses." It is just harmless media speculation/controversy crapola. But it has the word "bitcoin" in it and is neutral exposure.
I have friends on facebook who have been hearing about bitcoin on and off for the last year but just now are asking me about the protocol and about how to get some and start using it, what places accept it, etc. And it will probably be a month or two before they get around to actually doing that. This is slow and it takes a lot of exposure. What we're getting now is a bunch of exposure - and neutral exposure is nice, especially after all this Gox crap.
+1,
Which is in the end, "good newses".
