Can you have access to your private keys like blockchain.info? because a web wallet is only good as long as you have full control over your funds.

Would like to get opinions on Tor Wallet and whether its a dodgy site.
They say they have an onion site yet it doesn't work. Scam site?
Of course it is shady, why would you want to trust your money in some online wallet created by the same people who created the door to the black markets, I think they take your money and use it for drugs hacking or other illegal stuff and when you try to withdraw from them they either don’t or give you an error about the minimum amount.

75% of all sites in TOR are scams. TOR itself is created for privacy but as a downside is a safe haven for scammers. Be careful before doing anything stupid there. The life of a website there is really short.

TorWallet is NOT a shady site.

There was a TorWallet in 2012 that was a total SCAM.  I bought the domain in 2014 and relaunched it, and have run it with high ethical standards.

If anyone ever has an issue with TorWallet they can PM me on here, email me at [email protected] or submit a support ticket through the site.  I'm easy to get in touch with.

Why would there be a need for a wallet running under Tor?
Wouldn't a bitmixer to wash your coins be enough?

I have not used torwallet before but I might, torwallet is free while bitmixer is not although bitmixer is good if you are running a company with hundreds of transactions daily ..

I will wait for more feedback about this torwallet.

Uhh. Think about why people use a mixer in the first place. They have dirty btc and they want "clean" btc. I wouldn't recommend sending dirty btc from your home connection. A bitcoin node could be run by a three letter agency and they could record that you sent out that new transaction.
Alright then. I see why you would want to hide behind a TOR in the first place. It's for those that are in the deep web or dark web. Whatever you want to call it.

This is new to me,and Tor has a good reputation as an anonymous browser and they are very successful compare to some vpn company, like to try their wallet instead of using bitcoin mixer for untraceable transactions ,but I'm not going to use this as main wallet of course.

There seems to be some confusion here... Tor is not a company, i'm pretty sure the developers of the tor browser have little or nothing to do with tor wallet.
Eventough using the onion router to access the Tor network might be a good thing for extra anonimity, using an online wallet in the darkweb might not be such a good idear (IMHO)... There are a lot safer ways to get some extra anonimity (again, IMHO).

Are you talking about https://torwallet.com/ if yes than better see this
https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/50pj34/anonymous_bitcoin_wallet/
https://www.reddit.com/r/onions/comments/4a2xfn/anonymous_bitcoin_wallet_tor_wallet/

They have really bad review, i suggest either run electrum or simple web wallet over TOR browser.

This is the first time i've heard tor wallet or just miss something about those wallet, but if you think that is shaddy wallet with no good reputation at all well much better for you to used mycelium and electrum wallets or anyother web wallet that applicable in your country for your convenience so you will not doubt for anything might be gone wrong for such matter, and also blockchain might be good but i don't like that wallet since our transaction is truly visible is someone will watch our wallet in their.
Same here, this is the first time i do heard about tor wallet i cant really say that its a legit or shady one since i didnt try to use it.Arwin was right if you think its a shady wallet then its better to use the reputable online wallets like blockchain and also if you prefer hardware or desktop wallets then bitcoincore or electrum is okay.Actually there are lots of wallets to choose from.

I've not heard any other complaints about them but I do know that it's common practice for sites that deal with a lot of coins to keep two wallets, one "hot wallet" that is live on the site and holds only a small amount of coin to handle expected daily tx volume and one "cold wallet" that is held offline or on a different PC so that it cannot be compromised by hackers gaining access to the server. It sounds like they just ran out of funds in their hot wallet. I'd give them a bit to transfer from cold storage before pulling the scammer trigger.

I don't know what tor wallet is but you shouldn't be using any web wallets. Just use a SPV wallet and connect through tor. I really like electrum though I haven't used it with tor.
