I was thinking about phones recently and they have upgraded maybe too much.Thease days you can use a phone for almost everything , photos , emails , games , movies...
I have a Samsung note 10 plus , it has a great camera , perfectly big for movies emails and powerful.

The phone is everything you want from a phone(in 2021) , but i see its starts to become slower and slower. I know it has to do it one day , but when it gives up and doesnt do its job that well i have to buy a new one and there comes the problem, new phones are becoming better better and better and more more expensive, i dont want to spend 1500$ on a new phone... its too much. Yes i can but a cheaper phone but it would give up even faster and they make them in such a way they have goo specs but build quality is below zero.
Do you think phones have to slow down with the new technologies ?

Ofcourse theyre slowing down but i didnt think this came from the new technologies

Maybe you are right, but they build with that much features that they cant be cooled down so well.

I’ve got an iPhone 13 Pro Max & I think it’s awesome. I mean it depends on your age, if somebody is 80 years old they maybe don’t need to keep up with the latest tech. I’ve had an iPhone dating all the way back to iPhone 3. I wouldn’t change now.

I really thinking about Iphone 13.

Don't consider smartphone as phone. It is small computer with lot of sensors and function of telephony. These small computers will be morally obsolete very fast because their hardware fits just so for applied operating system and software (specially the cheap ones). Operating system and applications for smartphones are programmed using various interpreted programming languages and frameworks. This type of programming is fast and cheap, but resulting applications are unefficient and consumes lot of hardware resources. But market demand pushes price of phones down, so manufacturers cannot bother with software very much - thats why lots of cheap phones lack good software support.

So the problem is low quality software. Everybody just search for cool hw specifications, but don't bother with quality of software. The big part of problem is that there is oligopol of two mobile OS manufacturers (*). Second one is even locked only for one brand of hardware. What can be expected then? I'm afraid that only thing we can do to increase quality of phone's software is to support some small manufacturer of phones with alternative operating system. It is hard, but not doing so will just keep current state or even get it worse.

* Yes, there are some other operating systems, but with negligible market share, see https://gs.statcounter.com/os-market-share/mobile/worldwide/#monthly-202009-202109.

I believe that new phones will always release following the new technologies that have been invented for the smartphone. So it is not surprising if you bought a mobile phone in the last month, but in the next three months, you will see another new model with high tech inside the phone. Your mobile phone will look too slow compared to that new phone.

A phone can't be too good for me.

If it shoots lasers, I like it.

If the battery life is 20% longer, I like it.

It is just what people do with it that is the problem.

If you see, almost all over the world using it,everyone cannot work without phone.Using phone let's its very very important, instead using another gadgets i will not mission it,comparing to others gadgets easy to hold and pick-up fast than but to others open it,do something can start, and waiting how many seconds.,but for PHONES,FASTEST WAY,by using differents way to open/start so fast, even we experience, already  login our email, infront of your phone, can see everything wanted to start, that's the different to others GADGETS phone is fastest ways to use everything.

If you are not buying a new phone that every company launches then how they are going to make profits?

Smartphones are giving anything we wanted so we can expect it to be a Jarvis in 2021 but Alexa and Google is more than enough in my opinion.

Well, if you have the money you can keep up changing your phone and get a better and upgraded one, I have a phone that's 3 years old and I don't think I'm going to change it, it's China phone and surprisingly it's a tough phone, I dropped it many times and still good, I like its features although their new phones with good and additional features I am satisfied with my phone's feature, it's still on individual preferences if he wants to replace or upgrade his phone.

i dont want to spend 1500$ on a new phone

Me neither.

You can get an unlocked phone with 32GB and a battery that lasts for up to 3 days for $179.99

source: https://www.motorola.com/us/smartphones-moto-g-power-gen-2/p?skuId=539

For basic phone usage you don't need more than that, and it will last maybe 2-3 years at least.

Do you think phones have to slow down with the new technologies ?
There are many factors why our phones are slowing down. It's because of its capacity and with the apps that we download.

Another thing that slows it down is that because we want to have it faster naturally. In that case, we're looking at the current phone that we own as become slower because we see new specs in the market.

I think it's better to say they have upgraded to become more functional, I'm not sure about them becoming too good. I typically assume that if they are not safe for us then they aren't good. Do you think they are safe for us? We should be aware what they are capable of in secret that's hardly talked about. You should consider Matrix and the billions of people that are interconnected through these devices with AI able to understand and spy on them better. That's too much power. No real privacy and you are at the mercy of the entity that controls the interconnected system. If you know what's done in secret with them you may be very terrified.

Ofcourse the cheap ones are usually of poor quality, with limited or low quality specs .  Some that are high in quality may have high quality but limited specs. In my opinion the more features the have the more useful they are but at a cost of your privacy/safety.

I notice they slow down after many uses. Guess you could blame that on the the amount of data they consume. They tend to get faster again when you factory reset and start afresh. Or maybe you are just looking for new ones with faster hardware/software?
