I really wanted this to work, and I hope it still does.

But one thing that bothered me, was someone who worked on the project exposed it's flaws and got a lot of shit for it.

This was the thread:

http://www.reddit.com/r/privacy/comments/1mv7id/toxim_the_insecure_messenger/

The link died though...

Here's some more, but it also died:

I think right now, the safest is Pidgin + OTR plugin

A lot of progress has been made here. I tried it today both chat, sound and video works great! Will have to do more research into it. Anybody else using it?
I'm going to try it right now. Seems promising as we even had info in press that our goverment (police) is spying us even thought skype.

Great idea, just make it better not a photocopy of skype but let it be unique in its style.

TOX

A New Kind of Instant Messaging
Whether it's corporations or governments, digital surveillance today is widespread. Tox is easy-to-use software that connects you with friends and family without anyone else listening in. While other big-name services require you to pay for features, Tox is completely free and comes without advertising — forever.

What makes Tox different?

Tox is made by the people who use it — people fed up with the existing options that spy on us, track us, censor us, and keep us from innovating.
There are no corporate interests, and no hidden agendas. Just the simplicity and functionality that are set free when people truly want to connect.
