Hey Jered,

Why are you guys operating this site out of Chile?

Not everyone is in Chile but a most of us are.
We were here and in business working on other projects before Bitcoin got started.
2 Chileans and a large group of Americans (US) so far.
I convinced a few programmer and finance friends to look in to the potential and they loved it.

It's a nice place to live, business and taxes are really simple compared to the US etc
Plus we're able to afford an office on the beach!

Depending on the public reaction to Bitcoin and its future legality we may be forced to move unfortunately.
Chile and the US are really close so if the US decides to make Bitcoin an enemy then Chile will likely follow suit.

There are clear advantages to operating out of Chile, but in my Opinion you guys aren't doing enough to show how you're different from other exchangers. I want to hear more about your security/policy's/regulations, so that people can feel safe putting their hard earned money into a whole new exchanger. Considering what just happened with MTGOX anything is possible. Now I am not saying here that your system is insecure, I am just saying that we need to hear more about it.

We're working on this.

Is it happening once and not for hours or are you experiencing a lot of downtime?

We made some changes that really sped the site up and we're receiving huge volume but would like it to be more reliable.
Any specific feedback or suggestions you can provide will help and we'll take it all in to consideration.

Regards,
Jered

I really don't think they're gonna be able to handle the traffic at least for a few weeks. We need more exchanges!

expect to see a good amount of this the whole week as more and more money is coming in to buy up btc

I doubt it, as hackers recently got hold of tens of thousands of BTC, and I imagine they will be unloading them for a while, depressing the price

Is Tradehill not loading for anybody else? Says the page isn't responding. Not sure if this is the same thing as overloaded servers.
