I am baffled that people will stand up for Jered.  And actually, it has recently come to my attention that one of his ardent supporters actually owned a piece of the company.  So be very skeptical of people who come on these threads and say that Jered is anything other than the lying scum that he is.

Looks like I must own a piece of mtgox, cryptoxchange, exchb, etc. as well.  Also, looks like Ron Paul's going to offer me a cabinet-level post in his govt.

Hi,

I am still waiting for my funds to be returned by Tradehill / Jered Kenna. I have sent emails multiple times. Jered himself confirmed my account balance and requested a BTC address so he could send the funds. The funds were never sent. This was 6 months ago. Has anyone heard from him or received funds recently?

Thanks

Jered you should hire a few more people to help you with all the e-mails if you get so many. Good luck!

I think this is a good reason not to put all your eggs in one basket-case exchange.  I have had good experience with CryptoXChange and I would suggest people to use multiple exchanges to minimize the chance that you get burned.

I really feel for you Dinkytoyz.  That is a tough spot to be in.  Jered is crossing a lot of people, and some of them might be extremely angry.  Words on a forum are one thing, but seriously he needs to watch his back.  Not everyone in bitcoinworld is a regular Joe with a nice family.  I just can't figure out why he wants to put himself in this position.

Well, I do not think Tradehill and Jered are like the MyBitcoin scam. I think Jered just bit off more than he can chew. I think the problem is the current banking system.

The financial industry is one of the most heavily regulated and a supreme pain in the ass. This opens up a lot of opportunity for an entrepreneur because of the inefficiency. If I were running an exchange I would have tons of different bank accounts setup, with lots of different banks both national and regional, with lots of different New Mexico LLCs to prevent any of these liquidity types of issues. If anything Jered should have had lots of redundancy built into his system where he could plug-n-play many different bank accounts and had lots of bank accounts opened and ready.

But if you think this is a liquidity issue just wait until things like the new FACTA legislation gets put into place. Then come the currency controls. You think you have liquidity problems now, just wait.

Of course, the more then governments get involved the more inefficient the market gets which opens opportunity for entrepreneurs like Jered.

Call Jered what you will but I call him a liar and a thief.  I got out today by doing multiple bitcoin withdrawals of less than 80 coins each and took some of them to Crypto X Change in Australia.

If only I could do the same, but my money is all stuck in the wiretransfer so I cant even buy BTC.

I hope your avatar is your face.  If so, I'm sure you can get money easily elsewhere.

No answers, no emails, nothing.  Looks like the money is gone- why else would you run and hide?

Tiptop. I have never lost a cent from Tradehill.  I'm confident noone is taking your money and hiding.

As they explained, they are dealing with hundreds of emails a day.

If you are unsatisfied with delays, that's understandable - you can say so, or choose to take your business elsewhere, your choice.  But, let's not equate delays with stealing.
Assume OP was told to expect payment within a week. That's two weeks of "delayed" money. I charge 104% principal for 14D loans. Maybe it can't be called "stealing," but harm is definitely being done by TH. Hopefully, they'll be generous in compensating users for their losses.

Dovewing it looks like when Jered said that they would be sent the 17th that was not true.  I have been waiting for my money since the 29th and nothing.  Jered has stopped replying to emails now.

Jered is working with me now so hopefully this will all get resolved with little more fanfare.  I was not impressed with MtGox, but exchangebitcoins.com was superb.  I was sorry to see them go.  Still, Tradehill has the potential to be the go-to exchange if they work out the kinks.

This thing with the banks is irritating as hell.  We all know that in business you have to "do what you say, and say what you do"- but when people upstream are not honoring their commitments it makes it hard.  Hopefully Jered will find a bank with integrity.

Thank you for the kind words Antares.

I was also really sorry to see exchangebitcoins go. I've been involved with Bitcoin since pretty close to the beginning and want to see it succeed because I believe in it and always have. It's already done 1000x what I expected a year and a half ago but has a long ways to go. Seeing a good company like EB shut down is tough but it was nice to see a professional company rise and then close their doors and return all their client funds and act as somewhat of an "anti mybitcoin". I've stayed in touch with EB and would really like to see them come back in some regard. Personally what impressed me most was how seriously they looked in to Dwolla chargebacks when we made our announcement and when they noticed they were also being defrauded acted immediately and shut off Dwolla.

Regarding banks I would really like to find one that works for us. Unfortunately almost all of our time goes to banking. We're not a large company that's allowed to bend (break) or write the rules, so we have to play nice. Essentially we're at the mercy of the banks which is exactly what Bitcoin is trying to avoid. Ideally some type of decentralized exchange or networks of local exchanges will grow and I can happily shut down trading on TradeHill knowing a better solution than a centralized exchange exists and move on to other Bitcoin projects.

Until that point we're going to have to occupy the uncomfortable space between conventional finance and Bitcoin. We sincerely appreciate all the positive feedback, patience and support from the community. If it weren't for the community we wouldn't be able to continue working 7 days a week without paying ourselves.

Regards,
Jered Kenna

I had my trouble with them this year, too, however they silently resolved the issue yesterday.

Still, compared to mtgox they are better by lightyears!
Mtgox limited my account midnovermber withholding a couple thousand dollars from me, I immediately sent the verification crap, and today I finally got verified. So, if it's tradehill or gox, I sure as hell prefer tradehill.

Check your inbox, I sent a reply 20 minutes or so ago from my personal account and our zendesk.

Our account was closed by our bank and we would like to send these checks out asap.
We are doing everything possible to get these checks out. We haven't lost any checks or forgotten to send a check. Without any prior announcement we lost our ability to send the checks when the bank closed. Had we known sooner we would have announced it.

I will let you know as soon as we have a solution. This is our number 1 priority at the moment.
You have my email address, I can provide updates when something changes. I would like to send checks out today (Tuesday) but I can not say for 100% that the setup will happen that fast.

Are you asking us to do this because you are too busy to answer the e-mails that have been coming in through support?  Honestly Jered you must be joking.  Your company is not answering my requests so you tell me to send an email to you directly?

Why would I have to find out from this thread that you are no longer doing check withdrawals?  Did it ever occur to you to send out a mass email to everyone who has a check withdrawal in progress?

C'mon Jered.  None of this makes any sense.  We are not this naive.  Come clean, or at least do the BARE minimum to try to salvage your company's reputation.  At least answer your support e-mails.

I'm asking you email me personally so I can take care of it right away.
I get hundreds of emails a day personally and TradeHill info gets a lot as well. I'd like to fix this for you instead of going through the list one by one when I can prioritize the most urgent issues.

Jered

Edit: The checks will return, we should have immediately sent out a mass email notifying everyone and I acknowledge that mistake. This wasn't something we had planned. The account was shut down without notice stopping all checks from going out.

Send me an email '[email protected]' with the details.

All the funds are there it's just a matter of liquidity. The bank accounts were closed which makes it difficult to move funds around. Paxum takes a long time to reload and we can't send a wire if our bank account is closed.

Let me know exactly what is going on and if you want to cancel a withdrawal etc.

Am I the only one having trouble with Tradehell- oops, I mean Tradehill lately?  "Losing" checks in the mail and charging $12, very slow customer service response, failing to mail checks on time, etc, etc?

***UPDATE***

I am dealing with Jered directly now and he is working on my issues.  I think there is a good chance this will be resolved quickly.
