A good tip is never chase the price of an altcoin. If you miss the boat, I would rather you pick another coin to trade than buying the pumped altcoin at high price and watch it crash later.

I think rather than valuing your assets in USD, instead you should value it in bitcoins. We all know that the price of it is going to go up in the long term so if you keep those bitcoins in your possession, there's no need to worry.

I'm a huge fan of BTC and even mine a little on my own, but even still I wouldn't go as far as to say I "know" the price is going to go up. No one knows. That's not how markets work.

If you weren't successful before when there was a huge volatility in almost any altcoin out there, you will be hardly successful now when almost all of the altcoin market is nearly dead. Everything that's happening last few months is that altcoins are plunging down in price.

If you really insist on trading, I suggest you take a look at Ethereum. There is a huge volatility there and big swings. Someone is definitely manipulating this market. Also use Poloniex. That is the only decent altcoin exchange that we have left out there!

Altcoin trading is really problematic as it is totally quicksand territory. Bubbles and crashes are so common that you won't even notice when market changes.
If you don't have immense knowledge about that area be very careful. Like other said: you can still profit from FOREX trading and I would advice you to focus on Bitcoin arbitrage.

better to trade forex with bitcoin, the market is always stable in the same range with a little shift here and there, much more predictable

money are not guaranteed either, but it's better than going blind on bitcoin

Also beware of those pump & dump schemes as they are extremely bad for your portfolio. Good luck.

It's hard to give advice to you without knowing what currencies you're trying to trade, the amount of money, the frequency of trades, your trading style and risk tolerances.

Generally, here's what I'd do...

  • Instead of trading often save up a balance to trade when you see the greatest opportunity
  • Focus on just two currencies, and watch the prices, track the charts, when you see the greatest opportunity you strike
  • Develop rules for your trading decisions and follow them without emotion (this is very hard)
  • Track your success (or failure) and try to improve your performance

Good luck!

So, I was thinking of going back to trading alt coins.
My first try was never really a succesful one. I hardly get profit with what I am doing before so now I came here to ask for some help and advices.
- Is it advisable trade now with the unstable price of btc?
- Which coin is best to trade?
- What exchanges do you recommend?
- Also what do you think is the best capital for trading and making big profits from it?

I will really appreaciate the help I could get from you guys. Time is passing so fast and I'm running of time and I need to get more profit so that I can make my plans to reality next year for my education so yea. This forum is really a big help. Thanks guys!
